@ccd Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming wedding!  It sounds lovely and I'm sure it will be beautiful!

I hope she just changes her mind on some of these choices.. Everything seems to need  more time and money to order anything for a wedding now. Inflation has hit it hard.  I think right now she is only focused on the wedding, but I that's true for lots of brides-to-be during the engagement. My sister has encouraged her to take the " before I say I do" class at her church...They have one for the brides and one for the grooms...I hope they will both take advantage of it.

It is amazing how many things have changed in just a few years regarding weddings. It's a different universe.

Re: Weddings in 2023

[ Edited ]

@bonnielu   I remember years ago, people had shoes dyed to

match dresses for weddings  and other special occasions. I don't

know if it is still done.

I have heard that this year, metallics are popular again for shoes.

Silver would be lovely with pink. You could easily find a silver clutch if you wanted to match your shoes. It seems that young

people today don't care about matching shoes and bags.

When my daughter was married 15 years ago, I wore periwinkle blue. I wore silver sandals with a 2" heel and I had

a small silver clutch. I still sometimes match shoes and bags, but not always.

My grand daughter is getting married in May and I'm wearing a long turquoise dress and nude color sandals with a 1" block heel. With arthritis in my feet, no more high heels. My clutch is coral and that picks up the color of the floral print on a turquoise kimono topper. It is not a very formal wedding.

Unless someone asks you to wear a hat, I would not, unless it will be outside in the sun and you need one for protection. I have not seen bridesmaids wearing hats or headpieces in more than 25 years.

Have a wonderful time and you will be "pretty in pink".
