Married in the Blizzard of '93.  Had to walk up to the old church both families belonged to in the foothills of Appalachia.  Back then they seldom canceled church in the 'hollers' and you got married after church service and then there was a potluck.

We got married July 1966. 106 degrees.  Reception had no AC.  Wedding cake was wilting.  It looked like Tower of Pisa.

It was supposed to have been a comfortable 75 degrees at the ocean for our outdoor wedding.  It ended up being a record 93!!  Everyone handled it well, though my husband was a little toasty in his suit.  Thankfully we at least had a slight breeze.

I should have added, the church was not A/C, We only had fans in the church. The only air conditioned room was the Pastor's office. I was so hot in my long sleeved chiffon gown. OMG. Everyone said this marriage wouldn't last a year. Now we will celebrate 48 years on June 16th. PTL. Again, it was so hot and now today here in Wisconsin it's hotter than Hades. Memories..
