Since weather is about as exciting as it gets on this board, I'll introduce this photo snapped about 2:30pm today here in the desert of Albuquerque on one of our main thoroughfares, NM Highway 528.  We did finally get a downpour along with this hail.

@Desertdi   It was pretty amazing while it lasted.  I dashed out front about 4 ft to rescue a new pot of geraniums and got my hair soaked and embedded with ice in the 2 seconds it took.

Fabulous photo! Heart

It really looked like a snowstorm in our area.  And I really wish I'd run out to save my container plants before all hail broke loose.

@Kachina624    Wow........thank heaven you were at home......and not on the road.    Those hailstones are dangerous!   di

@Kachina624 those sudden storms can do a lot of damage.  We had a hailstorm about two weeks ago in Nova Scotia in the town I grew up.  Major damage especially to garden centers who were hardening off seedlings outside.  They lost all the seedlings and had major damage to other shrubs.  It will be a tough year after that.  This is a nursery I visit every time I go home.

Here are a couple of shots...

I am glad you were home when it happened.  S

Oh no...I just thought about farm crops.    That could present a huge disaster...

yeah, and that could mean no great summer tomatoes, corn and even yellow potatoes are hard to get.  Since those lovely peaches we get come from California maybe they'll be okay but it had been years since I had so many great ones.  Last year was the first year we did in a couple of decades.
