Why does QVC promote wearing pajamas "out anywhere"? People tend to dress pretty comfortably as is these days, but pajamas should stay at home. Not "out and about" as touted during the Carole Hochman shows. Just my opinion, I realize, but really?

@IdahoGramI'm with you in that I wear my PJ's at home, but really, long before there was QVC or even its predecessor people were wearing theirs on the streets. Most of the people who do it now probably haven't learned to do so from QVC. In fact, Carole Hochman's "street" PJ's might even be an improvement over what I see.

QVC came on the air in the 1980's. I never saw PJs in public back then. It's only been within the past few years that I started seeing pajamas and slippers in public. I had to stop watching the Carole Hochman shows because of the vendor and hosts practically encouraging people to wear these outfits in public.

And they're doing it more and more. I've mentioned my frustration over this here before. They even say on the air that you can wear this or that to the office! How do they know? Places of employment have different dress codes. A lot of people lack common sense. Please don't make it harder for employers than it already is in today's world.

I have wondered about that too. I thought perhaps that women in other areas of the country did that type of thing. QVC clothes are almost all comfy, stretchy, soft knits that go by various names depending on the designer but are really all the same fabric. You can sleep, relax and nap in all of it if you choose too. It's all washable. So, then they come out with all these things that are obviously pj's or in house lounge wear and they tell women they can wear them to the grocery store or the bank or their kid's ball game...lol Why? Women who want pj's and lounge wear are going to buy those things anway. Sadly, there are some women who really do believe everything that pops out of the mouths of hosts and designers and it's sad to think that there are women walking around towns in pj's and nightgowns with their Clarks sandals and Dooney bags. And they wonder why they are getting all those side eyes...lol

Happilly I have not seen anyone weaaring pj's out and about near my neighborhood or local shops. But I agree that it's not something I would do or would find acceptable. Bad enough I have to see people ( mostsly young adults ) wearing Daisy Duke shorts and message tees in church. Yes. I know it is hot outside, but to me it shows a lack of respect. When I start seeiing people come in wearing pajamas, I will probably stop going and practice my religion at home. I've had many doctor's appointments lately thanks to my recent stroke, and I've seen some inexcusable outfits showing up in medical offices. Not saying you have to wear nylons and heels, but overly sexy tops and bare feet!!!!

The only people who get a pass to wear pjs out in public are children 5 years and younger. Then it's cute, IMO.

@IdahoGram . I have to agree...the only place outside of my home to wear them would be down the driveway to the mailbox.

Here's another way to look at it.
I purchased a beautiful Carole Hochman 2-pc pajama/lounge set. The top is a v-neck, short sleeve, solid color, with an inverted pleat from the v-neck which has a soft velvet-like trim along it. When I got it home I noticed the fabric content is the exact same as an H by Halston top I also own.
In the H by Halston presentation, they mention the luxurious, silky feel, the marvelous drape, and how the fabric never clings to you. "Wear it with jeans or wear it with an elegant skirt & heels."
The 2-pc Carole Hochman presentation sells it as the pajama/lounge set that it is.
With so much fashion being uber soft and flowy, luxurious to the touch yet non-clingy, is it any wonder why some clothes can be worn for any occasion? I'm not talking about the obvious pajamas that people wear outside. I'm talking about more & more, fabrics have become universal and depending on the style they can be worn indoors or outdoors. If you never knew that top was a part of a Carole Hochman set, or saw it in that presentation, you'd never know.
Yes, I wore that Carole Hochman top with a fabulous pair of dressy pants, with 3" sling-back heels and beautiful sterling silver jewelry on my cruise a couple of weeks ago. Received many compliments.

I agree pj's should only be worn inside - with that said you can't believe the amount of people I see in pj bottoms every day. And, not just the younger set - there are plenty of adults in them as well.
