Yes, it is annoying but when they do it to one thread but not another it leaves that person wondering why the rules are not uniformally applied. Either leave all of them in the forum they originated from or move them all.

I think our babysitters get bored and just start playing ariound. So, they threads around ijus for the heck of it or for some laughs. There are no "rules" regarding what goes where, so they make it up as they go along. It doesn't matter to me, if I start a thread and then it's been moved, I don't care. But it isn't fair to the posters who take this bored seriously.

@proudlyfromNJ wrote:I see the figure skating thread. Don't see the football one. There are some animal ones left, but they did move a lot of them to pets. There are many threads on community that could probably be moved if you really paid attention to the content of each one.
The moderators don't sit and trawl all of the forums, looking at the title of every thread, to decide if they think it could be moved, and then move it on their own. No matter how many moderators there are, they don't have that kind of time, nor do they really care about moving them, I'm sure.
If threads are moved to a more appropriate forum, it's because someone asked that they be moved. Someone specifically contacted the moderators and said "please move this thread out of X and put it into Y." If a thread that could have been moved wasn't, it's because no one reported it. It's no more sinister than that. The moderators have said - if you think something should be moved, contact us - if we're not too busy or short-staffed, we'll move it. But I would think that's kind of low on their order of things to do. A better target for annoyance might be those who report such things - but you will most likely never know who that is.

I like to see threads in the forum to which they belong. Then I can easily find them later.

@september wrote:Cardinal girl, I understand what you're saying. This used to be a general area, where we could talk about almost anything.
To get specific...I see other threads on the first page, right now, that could have been posted in other areas...like "my new washer"--- could be in the home forum, and "stop saying "it's so money"--could be in the Suggestion Box.
I don't mean to pick on the posters who started these threads. just saying...if their threads got to stay here...there is no reason why yours didn't, either.
.
Thanks for understanding. I'm not knocking any other posters, either.....I was just trying to make my point.
Some starting complaining and reporting threads because they weren't in the 'right' forum. Honestly, considering there is a search bar, I think it's unnecessary and petty.

They seem to let everything go on in the beauty forum. There's more talk about Evine and HSN than Q now, I don't watch those channels so I have no idea who this Dimitri is. Yet, they let Wen bashing continue on & on, but at least that's settled down. They'll remove a post if someone says someone is acting like a troll, that's about it. Maybe they have different Mods?

Dimitri is the founder of the Skinn cosmetics and skin care line on Evine. Apparently sales are booming..........

@CardinalGirl wrote:I hate when they move a thread I start to a forum I never check.
Been around here for about every "upgrade(?)" and have never had a thread I started moved. REMOVED? Many, especially considering that I do not start a lot of threads.
With this format when I see "Moved by xyz", I presumed the thread had been Removed? What do you mean when you say: " to a forum I never check"?
If you know your thread has been moved, not Removed, why do you not go there to check on it? That should be very easy to do.
And, by the by, why do you think the "threads you start" are being moved"? The Mods must have some kind of reason if this happens to you often, no?

I think too, we no longer have the ignore button since we now have moderators. Did you notice that exchange?

I never saw much point in the "ignore" feature.
If you know someone is gven to posting nonsense about you and you know that they are incorrect in their assessment of you, what diffference does it make if all the other posters can see what's been said about you and you can't?
