Re: We used to discuss all kind of things on this forum.

If it's true that certain posters are pestering the mods to move threads but not only that they are actually acting on that silliness, then that is just idiotic! For example right now there is the thread about "My new washer," that should go in the Home forum, there is the "Skinnytees TSV," thread that should go in the TSV forum and there is the "Animals at Gaza," that probably should go in the Pet forum.  People need to find something else to do with their time instead of trying to ruin Community Chat the way they ruined Viewpoints with their incessant complaining.

@sunshine45, now that they're moving all these threads, no wonder CC moves a lot slower - or seems to anyway.

People get used to posting in one forum.

But aren't you doing the same thing? Complaining?

Checking out the number of posts on these alternative forums, hardly anybody uses them.  If you want people to see your post, you need to use Community Chat!  If the mods want you to post where nobody will see it, it will deter posters in the long run.  I can't see that the name "Community Chat" in and of itself determines the subject matter allowed!   Just sayin. . . pondering-and-thinking-smiley-emoticon.gif

I'm not pestering the mods to move a thread.  Context is everything.

Fashionb Forum was pretty busy too - won't be as much with the subforum use.  Most of the subforums ARE fashion and were appropriate and not OT by being postd there.

It's bothered me all along that threads are moved from Chat to other forums because they supposedly fit there better.

We have established a community here and we like to ask each other about a variety of issues.  We may not know people on other specific forums.

Truth told, subjects overlap.  I've put up posts asking what others are doing for Thanksgiving.  Since we often share recipes for Thanksgiving dinner should it go to Recipes?

Maybe it should go to Holiday.

Maybe to Home since it includes decorating.

Moving threads for filing purposes is confusing and unnecessary in my opinion.  Leave them here where people like to gather.

I try to 'behave' according to the rules most of the time, but don't we all tend to post where we feel we know the most people?

I hate when they move a thread I start to a forum I never check.

Two things come to mind .....

First, the moderators aren't psychic, so they have no idea what forums you check.

Secondly, I think it's important to at least try to keep topics organized here.     Example ... Writing about a TV show in Beauty makes no sense, and won't attract the participants who want to talk about it.   Seems like plain old common sense to me.

There are several forums here that I don't actively participate in, but I still occasionally read the topics, out of curiousity.

My point is, why move it at all if they aren't going to move ALL threads that might fit into another forum?  And, really, why have a "vague" forum like Community Chat at all?  Seems like most every thread on this forum could be pigeon-holed in a more specific category.

I just checked my topic where they moved it....it has a whopping 4-5 responses.....if they had left it where I posted it, I'm sure we would have had a couple of pages of discussion by now.
