So wonderful to read such a positaive, upbeat post. My wish for you and your daughter is that you spend many happy, HEALTHY years at your new home.

As has been said, don't over do. But, if you are like me, you won't be able to truly relax and enjoy yourself until everything is done. Smile

You are truly correct! I can see the boxes I need to get the kitchen done, but I can't get at them! But I am not going to start complaining now. It will all get done and I will just have to stop my brain for a while. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Ford1224, you're so sweet to acknowledge everyone's posts. That must take a lot of time and energy. Anyway, I have enjoyed reading your posts. It was suspenseful for me reading about the hammering lady. {#emotions_dlg.blush}

I'm glad you get to live with your daughter now and have some good company.Smile

I am truly grateful everyone's caring comments. If someone said these things to me in person, I would embrace and thank them, so to me this is the same thing. It shows how wonderful this BB can be sometimes and I always want to acknowledge that.

My granddaughter came here last night from their old house (she and two of her friends helped with the last minute cleaning) and saw our new home for the first time. She came into my bedroom and hugged me and seemed delighted . . . in fact, so delighted that she stayed overnight! For some reason I think she will eventually be living with us . . . she can share her mama's huge king-sized bed. We are entitled to have four people living here.

Their father just bought a huge new estate type house and for now, the kids are going to be living with him. They are working and going to college most of the time anyway. But he is not an easy person to live with (to say the least). So we will see. My little daughter said she is not going to sweat it, she is going to let them decide for themselves and live with their decisions (they are 20 and 18). I agree that simplifying her life is the most important element in her getting better, and she is determined to do just that.

Ford, l always enjoy your posts. You are a neat lady. A foxy one, too, per the picture you posted! So glad the move is behind you and you are away from the hammering neighbor. The apt sounds lovely and just what you and your daughter needed. I hope both of you have many years of happiness there!

I am not looking too "foxy" these days, dobiesrule! Even though I am very limited in what I can do physically, this move has exhausted all of us. My little daughter is limited in what she can do, she tires very easily, as I do. Moving two households into one, a lot of stuff had to go to Goodwill, some thrown out, and a lot is in storage. I am so thankful for my other two daughters who did almost everything from packing to cleaning, to driving stuff back and forth that was small enough to fit in their cars. I did all of the "arranging," movers, Comcast, ordering shades, getting utilities changed, etc., things that would take time, but not physically demanding.

I have not had a shower in days because I need a handheld shower head and we have not been able to get it attached yet because so much else has taken precedence. I am taking basin baths like we did as kids, which I do sitting down as I can't bend over.

But, whew!, all that will be over soon. We are here and can go at a slow pace. I am not going to order groceries until the kitchen is set up, so we are eating not so healthy (pizza).

Thank you for your good wishes and kind words!! Smile

Hey Ford,

I am so happy for you!! Much happiness in your new home. It sounds lovely and perfect for you and your daughter. I hope you make many happy memories in this place.

My husband's grandmother, who was from Ireland, gave us housewarming gifts that included salt, bread, and wine. This is the meaning of the gifts....."Bread--that this house may never know hunger, salt--that life may always have flavor, wine--that joy and prosperity may reign forever."

Enjoy your new place. Smiley Happy

Re: We moved and it's a beautiful day

Hi Ford, While I was editing my post, I deleted the part where I was leaving these things for you in your new home. Thanks for understanding anyway.

Honestly, I really need to proofread before hitting submit. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}
