We have reached a sad milestone

The U.S have become the country with the highest confirmed cases of the Covid-19 virus in the world:

The United States hit a grim milestone on Thursday, becoming the country with the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide.

The U.S. had more than 82,000 reported cases across all 50 states and U.S. territories, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. It has now surpassed China’s and Italy’s coronavirus case totals, previously the highest in the world. The next highest case numbers are in Spain, France, Germany and Iran.

More than 1,000 people in the U.S. have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, so far. Several countries still have more deaths linked to COVID-19 than the U.S., including Italy, Spain, China, Iran and France, per the World Health Organization.

In New York, the epicenter of the virus in the U.S. at this point, there were more than 37,000 confirmed cases across the state as of Thursday, and more than 385 people had died. Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) warned that the state’s hospitals will likely become overwhelmed.

One source does say that we're inches behind China. More sources confirm the above. In any case, is it sobering, to say the least.

Who knew something like this could happen. People need to take this seriously. I have been in my apt. for over 10 days as I developed Bronchitis and was very sick. I took my last antibiotic today. My dr. extended my antibiotic 4 days. I am just about back to normal and I am taking no chances with this Coronavirus. Stay healthy and stay safe.

P.S. I ordered a black mask that protects you against bacteria, virus, dust, other allergens. I will hopefully have it by Monday. I have to take medicine that suppresses my immune system so I am susceptible to infections, etc. easily. I paid $29.95. It's made in the U.S. in California.

@Katcat1 get well soon! There are so many people not taking it seriously or think because there are little to cases in their state it is "no big deal". Wake up leaders and take a stand for human life and take action in those areas swiftly so you do not turn into MA, NY, CA and other very populous states. It is brutal here in MA and RI.

Keep in mind our population is much larger so we should be well above the smaller countries. It's just simple math.

We've not been shut down like China. Freedom has lots of price tags, unfortunately.
