Re: We apparently are never going to get rain again

The official record for a "dry spell" here in Phoenix was 160 days, as of August 2023. Though some parts of the Valley received monsoon rain, my part (and the official NWS station as well) received basically nothing. "The monsoon for 2023 in Phoenix will go down as the driest since 1895"--as per the Channel 3 website.

I do enjoy some rather nice rain videos on Youtube.

We had unusual rain this summer, but where I live in California we can go in 8 months or so without more than a few drops.

Rain is obviously a 4 letter word in Arizona. We haven't had rain in months. At least not on my side of town. I would love a couple of days with a steady rain.

@laluzdelmundo   Here in North Central Phoenix, we didn't get a drop of rain since last Spring...no monsoon whatsoever (first time in the 32 years I've lived here)...glorious weather today, however!!  Took my first long walk since late April!!

@Meowingkitty. @pdlinda.  Did it ever cool off in Phoenix?  At my house just NW of Albuquerque  we had 21° the past two mornings.  Days have been chilly too.

Re: We apparently are never going to get rain again

I live in NE AZ and it appears we've had some of the best weather in the country this year. Winter had a late start ( last week in Dec) but got a couple of good 20" snows before season was done. During Monsoon season we had over 10". Cracks me up that the partimers (May-Oct) scurry back to their Phoenix area homes; guess they don't like 4 seasons that are never extreme.

My state has been in a serious drought since July.

Be careful what you wish for. It could snow or be freezing rain. We get a lot of snow and ice and I'll take rain over those any day.

@Kachina624    Edit UPDATE at 6:00 a.m.       It's currently 55° and going down....so their optimism may have been premature(!)  di

Re: We apparently are never going to get rain again

@gidgetgh,  I feel your pain.  I'm a bit north of you in what is considered part of the Appalachian  temperate rainforest and we have been so dry the past couple of months we're now in a moderate drought bordering severe drought status.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.
