I'll be in Key West next month for a family wedding. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

A few years ago we had a family wedding in Key West the first week in March. A few days before we arrived, a cold front came in. We wore our coats the entire time. It was warmer when we arrived home to NJ.

Monitor the weather carefully.Smile

brii, sorry to read about your accident. The good news is, by the time your snow is gone, you should be good to go.

Feel better.

So sorry to read about your foot, brii!!

Hope you heal quickly and don't resort to the shenanigans of some in Boston I saw on the news - hurling yourself out an upper story window, half clothed, into the snow!

Funny. Some people actually love snow. (Im not one of them. lol). My (adult) daughter is hoping for a massive snow storm yet here in PA (even though its been snowing, sleeting, and or freezing below zero every other day!). My brother loves snow too (he like to go skiing).

Brii: Maybe a walking boot? Hopefully the Ortho MD will go that route. I broke a foot one time and a ankle (opposite feet and opposite years lol) and both times the ER casted it..and both times I lucked out and was able to get a walking boot!!

Good luck!

I'm one of those nuts who loves the snow, LOL. I'd rather not have to go to work, etc. when it snows, I'd prefer to be out playing; i.e. snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, etc. It makes the winter so much more enjoyable if you stay active and it keeps you in great shape. Once you're out there for awhile, you don't even feel the cold.

Tansy and kdgn, not ice. I fell getting off the elliptical. I broke the 4th and 5th metatarsal.

I have a temporary cast. I'm waiting to hear back from my PCP for a referral to the orthopedic docs. Then I'll get a regular cast - yippee.

Don't ask about the crutches. I am not coordinated enough for crutches. LOL

I made it upstairs to my bedroom, so I'm stuck for the duration until my husband gets home in a couple hours. I don't know if they're going to survive me. Yikes.

Thanks, Preds! I need you to keep me laughing.

I'm just catching up on this thread and am reading about your foot. As I was reading the thread from the bottom up, I was thinking that maybe you were one of those people who jumped out of their second story window into a pile of snow, LOL. They were showing them on the news last night. Luckily no one got hurt, because you never know if there's a shovel buried in the snow, so I wouldn't want to hit it at that speed, LOL. Glad to hear that at least you were indoors when you had your accident.

I was trudging through nearly waist deep snow, cleaning off my car when I stepped on an uneven surface and twisted my ankle. After a few choice words, I shook it off and resumed my cleaning. Thankfully it's okay.

Hope you feel better soon!
