At about 8:00 pm, there was a 5.9 earthquake where I live.

I was sitting on my couch, and it did make me nervous!!

I hope that there won't be any stronger aftershocks!

@Anonymous032819 I just googled it.  You are north of me.  I'm just south of SF and we didn't feel it here on the peninsula.  It is a scary feeling!  Stay safe!

@Anonymous032819   Been there, done that so I can appreciate how you feel.  Thankfully you are OK and aftershocks will be minimal.  Hope you had no damage.  Don't know where you live, I lived in Northern CA.  Stay safe

I hated earthquakes when I lived in SoCal.  Lived through Landers and Northridge.  I check the USGS site to see what's going on, since no place seems immune from them anymore!  Even had couple on Hawaii Island when we lived there.

5.9 is enough to scare you.  I use to live in San Francisco and we had earthquakes frequently.  I got really good at knowing the rate of the earthquake.  I don't miss CA.  I am now on solid ground.

I love in Northern California, behind the redwood curtain.

Just off the coast here, is where three plates meet, the Pacific Plate, the North American Plate, and the Gorda Plate, otherwise known as the Triple Junction.

I live in the very northern end of the San Andreas fault, where it makes a left turn and heads West and goes out in to the ocean.

Anchorage, Alaska just had a 4.0 earthquake.
