was the package from amazon?
@lovescats
I don't remember. Husband got it and opened it and I don't remember if it was his or mine.
I sometimes get packages from amazon on sunday delivered by the usps. If it is the regular carrier for my route delivering the package then sometimes he might deliver the regular mail also but not very often. also I don't know how they do it now but packages from amazon weren't placed in the mailbox but beside or next to it. now it seems a lot is delivered by the amazon drivers instead of the post office. but for me amazon stuff can be delivered by the amazon vans, ups or usps.

We have never received USPS mail on Sunday...we are lucky to get mail on the other days...our mail service has always been poor at best. If you get mail regularly on Sundays, consider yourself lucky.

I've never received mail on a Sunday but at least three times a month I have received packages from QVC, HSN, Amazon and other places on a Sunday, delivered at the door.
I was telling someone about this and she said she got regular mail on a Sunday (this past Sunday). They also have Delivery Confirmation and her husband kept telling her it's not so. Finally he checked the Delivery Confirmation and of course, it was for Saturday. He said to his wife "I told you so, no regular mail delivery on a Sunday only packages".
It's also great to see Fedex and UPS on a Sunday.

I live in a big city and Sunday is a regular mail delivery day for me. In fact I usually only get mail 2x a week - Thursdays and Sundays.

Amazon comes everyday. U.S. Mail comes on Sunday to deliver packages (not regular mail) FedEx & UPS on occasion come on Sunday.

I live in a large city . We have 'informed delivery' which is rather helpful. It lets us know what did not arrive. We usually eventually recieve everything. We have had delivery of regular mail lately at many weird times. Our cameras showed a delivery at 6 a.m.once and we get some after dark.
I believe covid , lack of employees , and politics are responsible. The carriers have a difficult job.
Usually with packages the informed delivery page will say ready for 'delivery by 8pm ' in the morning then 'ready for pick up' by evening ( I have never done that) then it is delivered the next day.
I am retired and home mostly and we have cameras .So I can keep watch . I feel sorry for those who can not.

Live in state next door to D.C. They have the worst mail delivery in the country. So ours is not too good. I posted about this before. We never mail on Saturday or Monday. It comes in a pile on Tuesday. Around Christmas, it's the worst. It comes about 3 time a week then and usually around 9:00PM. You have to take flashlight with you. After Christmas it gradually gets better in daylight hours. Summer time they come around 2:00PM. Very early for us. Sundays we get packages from USPS. Not complaining. At least we get something on Sunday. I've always had informed delivery. I think I had it from the very beginning of the service.

In this rural area of WV, we also receive mail on Sundays, but it is not delivered by our regular driver, or her sub. It is delivered by another postal worker driving one of the delivery vehicles usually seen only in city limits.
