@Q-Checker wrote:@SandySparkles i remember them all except laughing under the bed covers. I wasn't laughing -- I was reading a good book that I just could not put down and thought I could get away with reading it with a flashlight under the covers. I didn't (get away with it).
@Q-Checker Welcome!š„° I chuckled as I read your post as I am doubtful that I would have gotten away with also!š
THANK you SO much for caring to share!š¤

@KailaS Welcome!š„° Amen!ā¤ļø Most of us we were taught to respect everyone; especially our ELDERS!š On the rare occasion when I did not, there WERE consequences! Ouch!š

Raised by the greatest generation.... who won WW2, grew up in the depression and it's aftermath, did without all the luxury's and were generous with their love. Thank God for the best Parents... they are truly missed.

@SandySparkles where do you find this stuff ?? I'm telling my age ! yes we walked to and from school from 1st grade to highschool. we loved to play hide and seek ! Mud cakes ? YES !, I still have sports cards from major league baseball players. We made paper air planes,(my brothers did that) I still have 45 records, albums and a record player. We played checkers (board games) and cards but I don't remember the TV going off after midnight, I guess it's because we were laughing under the covers ! I was the oldest of 10 (we lost a sister at I think about 14 months old from a birth defect) My parents were there for us and it's a generation never to return. Oh and my brothers made go carts with old bike wheels and a board and rope handle to guide the front wheels. So we rode up and down the street we lived on. Thanks again for the memories !!

Oh my ! yes we also caught lightening bugs, tore the tails off when the light was on and put them on our ears as earrings ! Jumped rope ? yes yes yes and we were respectful especially to adults !! it was Mr. or Mrs or Miss. My 2nd grade teacher had a razor strap that he kept in his desk and you got a slap on the hand with it if you caused a disturbance or made a error. I remember miss spelling a word during class and had to hold my hand out and he slapped my had with his razor strap. Parents were aware of his strap and it was ok.

@Goodie2shoes Welcome!š„° You are MOST welcome!š¤ I LOVEā¤ļø this, and can relate to most of these!š My dear brother and several male cousins made go-karts as well of salvaged parts! I TRIED to ride one but just did not quite master it! After several serious crashes, I bowed out gracefully with a bruised ego, and a sore hiney!!š
I am saddened to read of your dear sister's passing!ā¤ļø Heaven gained an angel!!š¼
