That happened to me!

And it took a while for me to realize it, but a person used my account to order things shipped to her.

What a mess!

@KingstonMom Did they do it by telephone or by online order? Did they log in? Maybe they somehow used the app to do this.

I happened to me too.

The Q fraud staff was helpful but we never figured out how the fraud occurred.

Do you all recall that our account number was on the top of the packing slips?

@granddi @Did they change the ship to addresses in your account profile online? You could see the addresses listed when you look at your account. Did they order by telephone? Did they hack your account and add in an additional phone number on the account? You would be able to see that too. Could they have used the app to do this?

@Mindy D

I'm not really sure. QVC didn't give me a lot of detail as to how it happened, no surprise there!

That's why it took me awhile to notice.

I check my order status regularly and noticed something I didn't order, shipped to an address in CO, I'm in GA and don't know a single soul in CO.

QVC told me they would close my QVC account and I would need to re-open a new one.

IMO, QVC should question when new addresses appear on a customer's account.

But that's just my opinion. Now, I never use 'Bill to, Ship to'.

I order the item, then ship it on to who I want it to go to.

It's well worth the postage, to be sure this doesn't happen again!

Re: Ways to keep my QVC account very secure?

@Mindy D Re my account hack

I'll try to make this short as I can.

Last Dec-2022 I was unable to access my account. After the usual attempts to find out the problem, I got an automated reply that my account had been closed due to Q had business losses related to my account.

CS told me that I had ordered a nest thermostat (about $200?) in 2018 and had it shipped to another address and then after it was shipped cancelled the cc. Made no sense because that did not happen. CS told me if I know anyone in XX, Tennessee or XX Ohio? She told me she had no authority to resolve this. I would have to talk to corp level CS.

I tried to explain to corp CS that I had no knowledge of any of these details and that I needed to get information bc of the securtiy of my personal information. Fast Forward: If you have to get someone with authority go to QVC FRAUD and you will get immediate help and great representatives.

Apparently in 2018 someone used my account number but not my cc (so strange, right) and order the item, shipped to another address then cancelled the cc (doesn't make sense bc cc would be charged at time of ship). They told me the name of the persons and their city. They asked me if a home employee, relative or other might have gotten access to my account. NO.

I told her that back in 2018 our invoices had acct # and she agreed. But: why would someone use my number but their own credit card to do this?

I know this sounds crazy. Q fraud even said it did not make any sense. Why would a 30 year customer commit this fraud one time in such an elaborate way?

What I think: I think  acct number was somehow misentered bc the order was place by phone not on line.
