That is what I figured... I mean with all those kids... all of them are perfect angels? The odds are there is going to be one or two in the bunch that has issues...

Keeps them on the straight and narrow. If there is any deviation from the thinking of Michelle and Jim Bob, they go off to camp and come back all fresh and willing to obey again.

I think it is an incorrect assumption to make that this is a family that should be a model for anybody. They are a non-reality based bunch and it is, indeed, scary.

Out of that many kids you just know there will be at least one or two who will, ultimately, stray from the brainwashing. Good for them and I wish them well in their endeavor to join the real world. I hope at least some of the girls decide to break away and get an education, too.

Several months ago I read that one of the girls is courting. They don't believe in dating.

They say that Michelle homeschools the kids, but in all the episodes I've seen, they've never showed her doing so. I wonder how she could keep up with the studies of 19 children, especially once they get to the high school level. I mean, maybe I'm wrong, but she doesn't seem capable of teaching them geometry and physics.
