It's fascinating to see the knowlege and the work ethic this young man has to do all this.  It says, it took him 3 years on this.  I find him amazingly smart in knowing about this all.  He takes his time, no short cuts and talk about doing things from scratch!!

He hasn't hurt himself in ways I thought he might.  He had to have learned all this somewhere.  He also has tools, the early people didn't have.  But it's still pretty primitive.  I'm just blown away at all he's accomplished.

This likely isn't the same movie which you were watching.  For many years our local PBS station would have a similar movie on during their pledge periods.  The documentary was filmed by a man during the 50's or 60's.  He had a plot of land in Alaska and he filmed building his cabin starting with cutting down the trees in the wilderness.  He lived in that cabin for many years.  It was amazing what he filmed himself in the wilderness and during that time period.  DH and I would watch every time it came on mesmorized.

@mimomof4   I also watched that PBS wilderness film again and again and again. Something about the pacing and soft narration made it almost hypnotic.

Being an ambitious (in a good way) person goes a long way in life.  

Good for this young man and to other similar young people.
