Re: Washing Your Car at Home

I need my cataract surgery soon,  I read washing your cat at home.

As to the actual question, no.  DD takes cars to a carwash.

Both. If it's a cloudy but warm day, I'll vacuum the inside and my husband will wash. We also take our cars in twice a year for an inside and outside clean. Winter weather is what makes them look awful.

[ Edited ]

Many years ago, I thought I would wash and wax my car myself.  The car looked great, but my right shoulder got a rotator cuff injury from it.  To this day, I'm still bothered by that shoulder and avoid anything that will aggravate it.

I happily take my car to a local car wash that has all the newest machinery in their car wash, and if I go on weekdays before 10AM there's an early bird discount!  What's not to like?   Car looks great and I'm pain free!  That's a win/win in my book!

Re: Washing Your Car at Home

On beautiful days, I will still wash my own car for the exercise. I also pull it on to the lawn so the water isn't wasted. Using Jay Leno's product has never hurt the grass and has cleaned & shined my car (without much work from me) at the same time on those rare occasions.

Usually I take it through the car wash across from the Dealership, which has all the latest features (including the undercarriage and special tires cleanings). I always use both plus the wax which ends up as the top choice available. My car is garaged 365 days/nights per year so going through the car wash is only a couple of times each month, except in the winter during the snow season with dirty roads and slushy ice spray on the underside.

The  dealership also takes my car through the car wash whenever they have it in for service, but that is seldom (sometimes not even once per year is needed). The car is still to new for anything except oil changes and I don't drive much any more!

Re: Washing Your Car at Home

I used to do more car washing at home but getting lazy as I seem to have enough to do alone with yard work.  I vaccum weekly as have sand from my dogs feet and his window nose print every few weeks.

. Some people think the ones with brushes scratch but I have never noticed?  We also have an old Car Wash site with the wands. My cousin in CA. had alot of commercial places to clean cars inside and out.

Remember when youth groups had fund raising car washes? The kids seem to have fun doing it. Our church asked for old bath towels for raising money to go to camp some years ago.😎

Re: Washing Your Car at Home

When I expect the rain during the day, I'll suds my car just before the expected rain, and then let the rain rinse the car shampoo off.

Easy-peasy.

p.s.  Turtle Wash and Wax (all in one carwash/wax).  Worked/works wonders for years and years.

We go to the car wash. It's good and reasonably priced. I haven't washed my own car in 40 years.😉

Re: Washing Your Car at Home

We currently have four cars.  My husband washes and waxes them all. The inside of them are clean and detailed too.

Heavens forbid a bug or bird makes a spot on them.  Two are garage kept, the other two are in the driveway.

Occasionally, I might vacuum the interior of my car, but I personally haven't washed a car for years.

My DH keeps the cars, boats, golf cart, RV's and our house exterior in pristine condition.

He says the car wash scratches the finish, so everything is hand washed. We keep our cars for years.

Whatever, I am glad I don't have to do it.

Re: Washing Your Car at Home

I always wash our cars at home. It's kind of instant gratification.  I cleaned the inside of my car today but didn't do the outside. Sprayed the inside with dog air freshener...we take our Lab to the dog park and she works up a sweat.😆
