This is so weird. Not sure why I'm even sharing this, but it's been kind of stuck in my craw for a couple weeks, and I need to find a way to let it go.

A friend came to visit recently from out of state. We've been very good and wonderful friends for 25+ years....still are, and that will never change. We had a wonderful visit and I hated to see her leave. On the way to the airport (we were about 30 minutes into a 90 minute drive), she realized she'd left her cell phone plugged in to the charger on my kitchen counter.

No time time go back, so we decided I'd just mail it to her 2-day priority mail, which I did. The cost was about $6. Then a couple days later she phoned and laughingly told me she realized she'd forgotten some shirts (7) in the closet in the guest room and asked if I could send them to her. So I packed them up and got them on the way via priority mail again....this time around $9.

She let me know she received the phone 2 days later, but I had to call her a few days after that to be sure the box with the shirts arrived, which it did.

Now...the sticking point...she never even said thank you in either case, and has not offered to reimburse me for the cost of shipping the stuff she left behind.

And really, the $$ is not an issue. I was just kind of surprised that she never thanked me or at least offered to pay....I would have said, "you're welcome" and to forget sending me any money!

I almost feel like because we're friends she feels she can just shrug it off. Was I expecting too much to think she'd at least say thanks?

Thanks for letting me vent on this.
