It seems unbelievable to me that they would be so careless but a family dog is so often not considered a danger to a baby. I can just imagine the suffering they are going through now,. I hope their marriage can survive this. I think I would be violently ill - sick to my stomach - for days, months probably years. How does someone recover from that?

Not sure I could recover. Not sure what the breed is or the initial injury. The article said the dog didn't attack? I honestly don't think the delay caused the death. How long was it to the hospital?

"The dog made contact with the baby leading to traumatic injuries," Sgt. Tuu Nguyen, of the Child Abuse Unit San Diego Police Department, said.

The newborn did not survive the injuries.

The video said it was an American Staffordshire Terrier, it looked like a Pitbull.

I have a feeling that the news people who wrote the story didn't want to get graphic which I appreciate. It had to have been bad.
