Yeah, Walmart is not so great for shipping.  Recently I ordered something that I've ordered a few times over the years so it was time to get more.  They don't usually have it in the store.

They got my money on 6/22, the day of my order.   Supposed to get it by 6/30.  Well, that date came and went.  I contacted them a few days after that on their chat thing, as the order still showed 'processing'.

I was assured that it would go right to the warehouse and be shipped.   I should get a 'shipped' email directly.

Waited another three days, as nothing changed, and called them on the phone.   Like the previous time, I had to go through two people and like the previous time (with chat) the higher up person assured me that it would be taken care of by an even higher up person and I will hear within 24 hours that it's shipped.

Later that day I get an email that the order was cancelled.  We'll see if it also takes three weeks or more to get my money back.  No explanation and item still shows in stock on website.  *sigh*

My Wally's orders are usually placed with the pickup-in-store option. So This free shipping won't do me any good and besides, as @Nataliesgramma mentioned, Wally's shipping is terrible....slow!

Amazon ordering for me has decreased since their increased minimum amount for free shipping.

Jet dot com is getting to be my fave these days. They have free shipping with a 35 min. They also feature Jetcash where QVC has 20%. It simply can't be beat. Jet's shipping is the fasted I've ever seen. They live up to their name.Woman Happy

I have not had good luck with ordering online from Walmart. I ordered something they had a nice sale on for Christmas that they kept telling me was in process. Sat there for days and nothing happened. I finally got an email many days later saying it was canceled. It was a very frustrating experience. They've canceled more than one thing on me. Until it actually arrives, you really can't be sure you are going to get it.

Good luck to them.  I have ordered a few things from Walmart, shipping is high and too forever for my items to arrive.  Nothing can beat Amazon Prime for me...not even Qvc.  And now I get same day delivery on many thing!

If there is a potential buck to be made, Wal-Mart will give it a go.

Re: Walmart takes on Amazon

[ Edited ]

Yea, whatever... I'll probably shop Amazon at some point today... Walmart, not so much... I might walk through Walmart every once in a great while or pick up a few groceries, but it isn't an on-line destination for me.

I don't shop Walmart. I don't like their business practices and treatment of employees. (As I mentioned before on here they were sued and people won in my state for making their employees work off the clock without pay and because of many other bad treatment issues to their employees).

As far as Amazon, I mostly only shop on there at Christmas time since they raised their free shipping limits. (I refuse to join Prime).

It pays to check online prices at Wal-Mart's site before visiting the store. I recently bought a new phone at Wal-Mart. Online it was $33 in the store it was $49. I went back home (about a mile from Wal-Mart) ordered it online and opted for same day in store pickup, and within an hour I got an e-mail that it was ready for pickup. I saved $16 by ordering it online and picking it up at the store. I now check the prices of almost everything online before heading to the store.
