Not a fan of either chain.......

Amazon---

They had a security breech and a credit card was hacked

I had ordered an item from a vendor who had pictured a named brand item and mentioned the name brand in his description, yet what I received was a CHEAP KNOCK-OFF, when I wrote this in my negative review, my review was deleted and Amazon never replied to my inquiries why----that vendor is still there selling merchandise too...

Unless you buy a heck of a lot from Amazon their $99 Prime shipping is a rip off

Wally World--

Rude employees, few checkout lines, quality has gone downhill.  And a sign of the times, some neighborhoods don't want new Walmart Stores in their subdivisions.....

Well Wally World is taking on the world lately (and didn't they actually close stores last year)---- we have ONE major grocery store chain here, H.E.B.---who drove out and toppled both local and national grocery store chains (Piggly Wiggly, Albertsons, Krogers, and are the main one left standing (excpet for Super Walmarts and Targets and Whole Food Stores too, but their grocery store numbers pale in comparison in terms of sales) and now Wally is taking HEB on --and H.E.B. is already reducing and countering their prices to compete---and Wally's produce is sorely lacking as well as other departments too......

Interesting....

From a 2015 report---

The  Consumer Reports Bottom Five consisted of Shaw’s, Pathmark, A&P, Walmart and Waldbaums.

It pays to check online prices at Wal-Mart's site before visiting the store. I recently bought a new phone at Wal-Mart. Online it was $33 in the store it was $49. I went back home (about a mile from Wal-Mart) ordered it online and opted for same day in store pickup, and within an hour I got an e-mail that it was ready for pickup. I saved $16 by ordering it online and picking it up at the store. I now check the prices of almost everything online before heading to the store.

@gardenman

Although we don't shop Walmart that often, we have found that they will match the online price in the store if you print the page with the item or use your phone to show them. This may save you some time. HTH

Our WM will price match other online stores but they will not price match walmart dot com.  I've tried. It doesn't make sense to me, but they won't.

I put in a large order at Walmart (dot) com to see how I liked ordering online from them. I was thinking about signing up for their $49 ShippingPass.  I always have such great experiences with Amazon.

Well, two items I received from Walmart were totally smashed, and one item was totally incorrect. There was hardly any packing material at all in the box. They sent me new items to replace the ones that were smashed. They sent a label to send back the incorrect item. I reordered the item so that I would get the correct item. I again received the incorrect item. I again sent back the item and reordered. The third time I received the correct item. Whew! I won't be taking their $49 ShippingPass until they work the bugs out of their system and gain a little more experience with it.

Wow, you're really patient!  Big points for that.  But I can totally see how you wouldn't want to invest in their ship program after that experience.  I sure wouldn't either!

The only thing I've ordered online from Walmart were new car tires. The online price was much lower than the store price..

The biggest issue I've had with trying to shop on walmart.com is their website itself. I find that searching for items  takes much longer and each page takes forever to load. I've tried different browsers and two different computers and it's the same. I shop online all the time, and very often use site to store shipping options to save time. Lowes, Home Depot, etc. But Walmarts website frustrates the heck out of me.

@Anita Hug

I agree.

I have 3 Walmarts within 30 minutes either direction, but sometimes, I'd prefer to shop online.  Getting there and back and just shuffling around the store is time consuming.

However, their website is one of the worst.  So frustrating.  And the search feature is just about useless.  They lose more orders from me because I cannot stand to navigate the mess that is their online shopping.

I've had good luck with Walmart online. The two orders I placed within the past three weeks were shipped promptly. Both orders arrived earlier than expected and in perfect condition. I use the ship to store option so I don't pay a s&h fee.

One year I placed a huge Wallys Christmas order. It was placed well in advance of the big day, like mid-November. I kept checking the tracking info...my order didn't seem to be moving. It looked like it was stuck at my local post office. I called, I went there...no package.

Christmas came and went...still no sign of my package from Wallys. One week after New Year's I get home to find a tattered, barely held together box sitting on my porch from guess who...Woman Mad
