I have been thinking about trying the WM+ perk where you pay $40 a year, and groceries (order has to be at least $35) are delivered free to your home with no tipping allowed.  I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but after this experience, I think we will give that a try.  I'll have to look again, but last time I checked, they were offering a 3-day free trial.

I can't imagine not tipping the delivery driver. Their pay is so low to begin with. They do me a huge favor by delivering.

It might be a different story if Walmart published how much they pay and tip drivers. I just don't think Walmart cares enough to cover a decent tip.

Re: Walmart+ return from home experience

@Ainhisg  I have walmart plus. I order groceries and other items and have delivered to my door at least 2 or 3 times a month. It is a life saver. I can no longer drive and my husband is having some issues. It does have some cons however. I had always preferred to pick out my own fresh produce and cuts of meat, but overall i am thrilled to have it.

This is not a third-party delivery service. These are people employed by WM and are not allowed to accept tips. Just like the employees who work curbside are not allowed to accept tips. Just like people who stock the shelves don't accept tips.

I don't have the membership, but, I love ordering on line and picking up. No searching for a parking spot and, did I mention that I hate going inside Walmart?!!!😁😁😁😁😁

Re: Walmart+ return from home experience

@Ainhisg Thank you for mentioning the in-home option. I often order items for my limited mobility mother who lives in another state.  I've been paying the upcharge for 2-hour delivery so the items can arrive while her helper is there, so it would be a huge savings.
