Re: Walmart going to all self check-outs?

@4kitties  Yes, same here.  They just come over and see that you are over 21.  Same for certain cough medicines, too.

Don't have many reasonable options in my small town so we shop WM several times a week.  Almost no option s other than self check and worst thing are their horrible cheap bags that stick together. Yes, I own a set of 16 bags but sometimes I forget them ( too often).

Re: Walmart going to all self check-outs?

A friend of mine has worked at the local Walmart for 15 years.  Two years ago she told me about the long-range corporate plan to go entirely to self checkouts.  Looks like the future is now.

Re: Walmart going to all self check-outs?

This may just be the final straw for me. Currently in my stores, there's umpteen checkout stations but only one is manned by a live humanoid. And the line is backed up to kingdom come there! I know self check is not rocket science but I'm just not going to do it when it comes to fruits, vegetables, etc. I will pay the higher prices and shop elsewhere.....and have a much more pleasant shopping experience to boot!!!

Idiotic, Walmart, and I hope you ultimately pay the price!

@CherryHugs  That was my thought exactly while reading through this thread. I don't know how they could possibly go 100% self- checkout without it causing a slew a federal lawsuits.  Or maybe since it's a privately owned company they can decide who they want to sell to.  I don't know enough about this to really know for sure.

I don't go to Walmart often, but when I do -- I fill the cart. Wow -- the checkout would take forever.

They might as well.  Walmart employees seem so unhappy.  Maybe they could also install kiosks that would help you find things in the store.

Uh oh, that's not what I meant at all, @Marp. Ha! My sincere apologies to the actual humans manning those checkouts...God bless them one and all. They work hard. Oh, and maybe I should say "womanning" also as that's typically the case where I shop.
