I don't have a subscription to WSJ so I couldn't read it but did go to jet.com. It says prices drop while you shop. Does anyone know what this actually means?

@GenXmuse you don't have to have a sub to read the article I posted- I do not have a sub to it and was able to read it.

It means the more you buy, the lower the prices of the items in your cart go. Not all items go down in price but many.

ETA: that is odd, I rechecked the link I posted and it is now saying I have to subscribe to read the full article. I don't have a sub and I was able to read it all earlier. Anyway, here is another link:

Thanks for the new link happydaze and the explanation of the price drops. Good to know!

Walmart could buy the sun, the moon, and the stars, and still not be able to compete with Amazon.  Their website is HORRIBLE!

Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn't.  I've left their site many times, and ordered elsewhere, at a higher price, because their website wasn't running properly.

I had to place an order the other day.  The only place the item was available was on Walmart.com...not even in the store.  It took me 15 minutes to get the order to go through.  The site kept freezing.

I haven't been thrilled with Jets' website either. Sorting through categories can get tedious with lots of stuff grouped together with no real way to sort it out by what you're looking for. Jet made it pretty clear from the start that they were looking to be bought out by someone. Their business model doesn't make a lot of financial sense, but they were trying to build a large customer base and then sell the company and let someone else figure out how to make it profitable.

Never heard of Jet(dot)com until I read that Walmart bought it. I'll have to check it out.
