I don't do curbside, but I can't imagine standing in the pouring rain packing my own groceries or watching the shopper do it.
Anything not tightly wrapped in plastic would be ruined.
I don't either but we have the opposite. I can't imagine someone standing in 110 plus heat unloading carts.
Agree!

I don't know what to expect when this bagless thing at WM goes into effect on Jan 1.
I knew I could ask you guys about it and get some clues. I appreciate everyone's input here.![]()
For those who asked, I'm in Colorado where the bagless policy will be the lay-of-the-land starting Jan 1 statewide. I'm not complaining about that. It's a good thing. Just need to work things out to make it convenient to do curbside pickup.
I'm going to bring my own crate and then WM can load it up from there.

I haven't read all the posts, so I may be duplicating. But why not leave them in returnable crate with a deposit for the crate until you return it. And I'll bet they can find sturdy crates that are environmentally friendly.

Oh @Chopsmom
You don't stand out in the rain!! They have a HUGE carport you pull into.
Totally covered from the elements...and you don't even get out of your car.

My concern would not be how they load my groceries in my car. My first concern is how they complete the shopping and storing of my groceries in the store. While I hate grocery pick up for the fact that I get 1 bag per department giving me waaaaay more bags than I want or need. At least my groceries were stored. How are they storing with no bags. Sounds like a poor plan on your Walmart.

I discovered this the hard way. I live in PA near the Jersey border and went into a small shop in Hopewell, NJ in Oct. The clerk just handed me the few grocery items that I had purchased and looked at me....no mention of NJ going bagless.
Good thing I keep something in the car and went to get it.

@Desertdi wrote:I wonder what "genius" thought this up...WE REUSE those BAGS for trash, dog poop, and a bunch of other things...
So if WE have to BUY more bags...WHO IS THE WINNER?????
The S T O R E, of course... Meanwhile, the "environment" still has "bags"...
Stores did NOT jump on board with this bag banning at all. Wegman's even came forward stating paper bags were worse than the plastic for the environment.
Here, it was all New Yorks idea.
Just like they are going to ban you from getting a gas stove in a few years.
Something for me to think about....My stove & oven is close to twenty years old. Still works great but would want to replace it with another gas range.

Maybe they'll put them up at ours at some point. Right now, it's just parking spaces at the side of the building.

We still have plastic bags available at our Walmarts here in Illinois. Our pick up area is in the wide open. No cover at all.

My WM pickup area here in Colorado Springs is a covered parking area with numbered stalls. But I still wouldn't want to be outside when it's windy with blowing snow/rain. We have horrible wind here and covered parking doesn't help that at all.
