Sometimes it's hard not to be overly excited, expressive; even boisterous because of the alarm you've experienced. Tomorrow you will have adjusted to what had happened.

Firstly, let the person know that your reason is to alert them so that this doesn't happen to anyone else and that it could have been worse and can be worse if this happens again to another consumer.

Also, let them know how alarmed you were in finding the object. That you are also disgusted and disappointed.

The tell them that you realize they have nothing to do with the actual incident and that in no way are you blaming them personally; especially if you become loud or emotional.

I would also ask if someone might know why this particular wire could have ended up in the product. Could it be from a twist tie or something? See if they give you an explanation.

I was having soup with my young son one afternoon, at Hale n Hearty. He opened his mouth in alarm. A pretty large piece of a clam shell was in his mouth! He was so scared and so was I.
He could have chocked or broken a tooth.

I approached the manager and showed her the shell, and my child. She then became alarmed too and apologized profusely.
She gave us 2 complimentary cards with several free bowls of soup for us. I know it was a reasonable reason for that clam shell being in the soup, but I never returned to that place for soup again. I threw the cards away.
