Yikes how awful!

A few years ago I found a tiny frog in a can of spinach!

For real. It freaked me out!

I sent the company a picture of it. They sent coupons as if I would ever buy that brand again lol.

Re: Wal-Mart bakery

Reading about the experiences on this thread reinforce my belief that homemade meals made from fresh ingredients are my preference.

In addition to the FDA, report it to your local health department.

@Susan423

You need to call 1-800-WALMART today.   They will ask for your name and number and what happened.  This will alert both corporate and the local store manager what is going on.  A summary of the conversation will be emailed to both along with your contact information.  Then go to the store.  Tell them that you already called the 800 number and you want a full refund.

Happened to me at a Chinese restaurant. I didn’t notice I put it in my mouth until it got stuck in my molar. I couldn’t wiggle it out. My coworkers called mgmt., I was bleeding and they did nothing, not even a free meal. Said it was a loose wire from the wire brush they use to clean the pots, gross. Never went back and a few months later it shutdown l

DH once found a cigarette in a brown beer bottle.  That was back when they took them back for re-use.  Evidently it wasn't caught when it came out of the bottle washer.  He called the local distributor and the guy brought out a case of beer.

A few years ago when I worked extremely long hours I pre-ordered my Subway sandwich so I could pick it up on my way home.  I was super tired and hungry and when I opened my sub to put my dressing on was a long large grape vine that had no grapes just the woody vine! what? where? and why? did this happen? oyyyyy!  last I checked they dont sell grapes.  they replaced it the next day, was too tired to go out again.  Just plain weird!

I have heard a few nasty employees may intentionally put things in food they are making.  One of the reasons I never eat in restaurants anymore.

Other stores may have received cakes with wires in them, as well.

I would report it to your local health department.  They may want to inspect the equipment and what is in and around  the area where the cakes are prepared. Include pictures.

Aside from the wire, of course, what bothers me the most is that they buy these cakes from elsewhere, put them in the freezer, and who knows how old they are!

If I were paying a bakery for a cake I'd hope to heck that they made it at that point.

Anyway, I feel awful for the OP and others who have found awful things in prepared food.   I'm sure I have over the years but can't even remember an incident to relay.

The closest is one thing that I just remembered from like 1972 or 1973, at my first job.  It wasn't a product issue but we had a water cooler that had cold on one spigot and hot on the other.

You would just get some instant coffee, put that in your cup, then hit it with the hot water.  One day I got down to the bottom of my coffee cup and there I saw a fly!    I've always been super grossed out by flies but that was my first up close and personal deal, knowing that I drank that whole cup of coffee w/that fly in there.  Smiley Surprised
