Sending my best wishes, shorty.

Thanks for the replies and prayers.
In answer to your questions;
I can only go to the hospital here where I live for my mammogram since I had breast cancer. They said its a better mammogram.
The Dr at the hospital where I go did read it but they don't tell you. They send it to my cancer surgeon because I see him yearly since my cancer.
It is my opinion that they should call everyone as soon as they can, and tell them. But this is not the case.
I may get a card in 2 days that says something, but its usually vague because I had breast cancer. For instance; last year it said there are changes in the breast that may or many not be benign. (that's due to the scar tissue or something? from breast surgery)
The year I had breast cancer I didn't get a card, I got a phone call to go to the cancer surgeon for a biopsy and then to oncology.
So I wont know till next week when I see the Dr. I doubt theyd call to get me in sooner if they saw something since Im going next week anyway. If I get a card and don't understand it or it says something bad I will try to call.

I go to a state of the art breast care center where they always do a regular mammo, a digital mammo, and a 3-D image. You can wait for your results if you choose. I always wait while the radiologist reads and compares to last year's films and walk out knowing my results. The center, which is attached to one of our local hospitals, was created and built by a surgeon at the hospital in memory of his wife who passed from breast cancer. Their belief is that no woman should have to wait for a letter or a phone call. Also, within the center is a place for ultrasound, etc., if needed. I wouldn't go anyplace else. I will keep you in my prayers that God grant you good results. Please keep us posted as we care. docsgirl

Thanks again for replies.
You gals are lucky if you get your results right away. In my opinion they should do that for everyone who had cancer so they don't sit and worry.
About getting a mammo every 6 months, not here as far as anyone I know who had breast cancer. Im thinking that may be due to insurance not paying for 6 months, but only yearly? I don't know. Maybe its the Doctors?
Checked my mail, every year since I got mammograms I got a card 2 days after my mammo except the year I had cancer and today. I didn't get a card today.
I am praying this is just a fluke. The card is vague since my cancer because it notes changes due to former breast surgery, but at least getting one helps not to worry as much so I wish I had one.
Now Im more worried.

Shorty, I don't know if you and I have ever posted to each other but I just want to tell you I will say some prayers for you. Also want to tell you I could be your sister I would be just as up set as you are and my heart is hurting for you right now. Is there any way you could call the doctor and tell him you are so upset and you want to know what your results are now. Try to hang in there Shorty even though I would be just like you. Take care and I hope that this all turns out good for you.

Shorty, you should indeed call the doctor and tell him your concerns. This just isn't fair.
Since I was diagnosed Dec. 2011, after each mammogram, I have to wait for them to be read and then I am taken in a private room and given the results of NEC.
I am thinking about you and wishing you the best.

Shorty ... Call your doctor's office today and request a report on your recent mammogram. Why should you wait until your appointment for a diagnosis. If the tables were turned you can bet your doctor and his/her nurse would want to know the results immediately.
Don't forget to wear pink today. I have mine on as a 16 year BC survivor. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that everything is fine. ((((Hugs))))
