@PilatesLover    It's interesting that Mindy Grossman was considered to be the reason HSN did so well and when she left, credited as the reason it would fail due  her no longer being the CEO. At WW, the new CEO has criticized many of Grossman's decisions, how she ran the company and being responsible for WW's doing so poorly.

I left WW when Oprah became their focal point. I got tired of hearing about "Oprah this, Oprah that, Oprah doesn't like blah blah, Oprah supports blah blah". Then the decision to stop handing out bravos began followed by WW employees no longer needing to have met goal so their stories were no longer part of why you should join and stay with WW.

I finally saw WW had lost its way when I took a guest with me who was interested in joining. She commented on how heavy all the employees were, she commented about all the pictures of Oprah that were hung throughout the center but it was her comment AFTER we left the meeting which made sealed my decision; "it feels like we sat through a hippy-dippy let's sing Kumbaya camp session during the late 70's when I was kid. No thanks!"  She nailed it!

I sincerely hope WW finds its footing and is once again the amazing program I remember it being. Much success to the new CEO!

Oprah bailed them out financially, and then the program was changed to cater to her personal needs and philosophy. The emphasis was on "wellness" instead of weight loss. Losing weight is hard work...and the fact that one of the richest woman on the planet who has conquered many other challenges cannot lose her weight proves this. But the program has always been about losing weight, and I would be happy to see them return to their roots. I am not dissing Oprah, so save your indignant comments, please. Just calling it like I see it.

Let's hope Oprah stays away from them now and keeps her money to herself. WW doesn't need any more bail outs and if they do, they should do it themselves.

It's going into effect 12/11/22.  We're all supposed to have 23 (unless you're diabetic) and then you have another plan just for that.  They are going back to just the name weight  watchers. simplify they  say.

The free foods the WW people will tell you.  If you go on You Tube different women on there will you in on some of the particulars.

Re: WW 2022-2023

[ Edited ]

@FiddleDeeDee not to seem judgmental, because I know first hand how hard weight control is, but the staff at my center are all rather overweight.  With the Mindy iteration, weight loss was no longer a primary goal. When I worked for the company I had to be at goal weight. I heard that policy changed because of a discrimination lawsuit.

So I am just back from my meeting. The "new plan" is some minor tweaks.  They are in effect now, and updated materials will be presented in January. The tweaks are no more zero point starches except for corn and popcorn, and they got rid of earning points by tracking vegetables. There's no more personalizing your own zero point foods. So it's essentially the same program but less complicated.

Diabetics can set their app for that dietary concern and most fruits will have points again on the diabetic program. For everyone else, fruits remain zero as do all non-starchy veggies, white meat chicken and turkey, fish, beans, peas, tofu, and fat free cottage cheese and yogurt.  Rice, potatoes and oatmeal are counted again and points are the same for everyone.

@PilatesLover  Your explanation was well done!
