Our winter stuff hasn’t started yet in northern Connecticut.  But it’s on its way, as sanding strucks have been out on the roads.  As retirees, we can just stay at home and not go out.  However, there is our DD and DSIL, our DS and DDIL, our two GC, etc.  I hope and pray for all to be warm and safe, and thoughts and prayers for our California friends.

@PamfromCT......where does your family reside?  Yes, those of us that are retired can just stay put till it's all gone.......

OMGosh.....those fires are just awful.  Feel so sorry for those folks.  They just said the number of missing has doubled since yesterday at this time.  It is now 297.  And I heard it reported that it is almost impossible to identify some of the deceased.  Yes, lots of prayers for those folks.

@Carmie.....that is about how it looked here.....only we had more......it really is beautiful to look at.

Here's hoping your DH gets home safe and sound.

The weather man just said we have seven inches and sleet is on the way and we are expecting an icy glaze. Then overnight another 8 to 10 inches of snow.

Our local interstate is in grid lock.  Some vehicles have been stuck for hours.

No wonder I hate winter.  Who could possible love this stuff?

Thanks  for the kind words for my DH.'s safety.  He should be home by now and he isn't.  He's probably stuck somewhere.  Hope he at least calls soon.

@ShowMe Thank you.  He is driving a government owned vehicle and is at work.  I certainly want to call him, but I can't.  He also can't call while he is driving.

Where I am in Maryland, we only got 2 inches, but sleet was mixed in with snow. County schools and offices decided to at first delay but then closed completely so I didn't have to go in. I'm always on the freezing line and ice is much worse to drive and walk in so I'm glad for their decision. It's a cold rain now but will refreeze tonight, so tomorrow morning will be dicey. This really took everyone by surprise, it wasn't supposed to be an all day storm and very rare for November.

@Cumbercookie13.......be careful.  Don't want anyone falling.  That is always a big fear I have.  I'm on a walker now, so I don't go out in this stuff.

I’m in Nova Scotia.  Our storm starts early morning.  They are calling for snow, freezing rain and then rain.  I plan to have my first wood stove fire of the season and curl up with good coffee and a book.  I have a dinner date with a friend tomorrow which we will cancel if conditions warrant.  Hello winter...LM

@KKlim  .Thank you for your post.  My DH had to drive to NYC and return home.  He is late and not home yet..  Our roads are terrible and backed up.  I guess yours are the same.

I guess it will be a while.  Be safe everyone.
