Re: WIGS FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN LADIES

@Mz iMac That is a good idea--some of the lines are celebrities like VF.

Vivica Fox's wigs look a lot like wigs non African American women would wear as well @KarenQVC .  They are straight.  All straight wigs can appeal to multi ethnic people.  Her wigs don't stand out as wigs for AA women.  There are some who have other textures, but VF doesn't make too many with different textures.  This won't benefit AA women, so the Q probably shouldn't bother.

@Love my grandkids You are correctSmiley Wink. There will always be women who can wear anything and make it look good but a lot of the wigs QVC sells do not look good on most.

Still, it would be nice if QVC inserted a few (or even one) options that appealed to women with different hair textures.

Exactly!  Texture is key here.  Not straight with curl.

Recently, I have seen Jennifer Hudson wearing a short wig on the Internet advertising wigs.

Re: WIGS FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN LADIES

I believe the Q offered a wig style similar to Host Leah's.

It was available in maybe three colors.  Sold out very quick.

I said to myself and posted somewhere that I'd love to try a similar style, maybe a bit less volume (for my small-ish face).

I'd like to see a medium brown in that style, a bit smaller in volume.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

There's lots of places to shop for wigs other than QVC.  Just do a Google search and let the shopping begin.

I don't think calling out one particular business does any good.

The AA wig sites are so good I don't think the Q could top them.  However, the Q might try a basic AA style and an Asian one, too, for ladies who watch the shows.

@KarenQVC   Do these sites sell wigs for all hair types as well?  That would be helpful to know to a lot of ladies here who don't fit a certain hair type.

Re: WIGS FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN LADIES

There are many sites to shop for wigs for all hair types.
The problem I've found is choosing a color. It's so difficult to see the true colors of wigs online. Or the wigs look completely different in person.

Luckilly, I've found a local wig store that has a large selection. I'll be shopping there from now on.

@Mindy D The woman who originally questioned QVC about this topic posted her inquiry in the suggestion box section.  I believe it will fall on deaf ears though.

I was a consistent shopper for many years but my purchases have greatly declined over the years. I completed a survey that QVC sent me a year ago asking how they can do better.  I mentioned a lot of ways that they can do better including that they can try to appeal to their entire customer base.  I mentioned that they may argue that their customer base is mostly a certain type of customer.   That may be the case because when a group of people are underrepresented or not represented at all, they will spend their money elsewhere.  I respectfully went into great detail about this topic and won't do it again.

Thanks for the encouragment MindyD and others. Smiley Happy

@Latonya @I think that if Q thinks the prospect will make a decent profit for them they will try it. They need to be convinced of this.  I prodded QVC repeatedly for expanded plus sizes and they finally tried it out. Now, these sizes are selling out and more and more vendors are adding in the sizes as they become affordable for the companies to do so.

If you look at Leah, it's obvious that her look is popular. Keep on suggesting. Try it in the Suggestion Box and try it on FB or wherever you think of. Try suggesting it to a wig vendor that's already selling here. Just keep on saying it. Look for sales figures and trends from this category online and include some information in your posts.

Re: WIGS FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN LADIES

I always wear Tony Brattin wig.  But I buy them from her website,

I don’t like the black roots QVC has her company put in the wigs they sell.
