Re: WHOA! "Storms Slam Kentucky, Georgia, Tenn, Virginia"

I live in GA. This is not new. Every end of winter/early spring ( our spring comes early) , we get these storms. Don't let OP make you think this is new. This is normal, at least in the south.

Re: WHOA! "Storms Slam Kentucky, Georgia, Tenn, Virginia"

I briefly heard that there recently was a tornado in or near Oxnard, California.

Approx. 75-90 mph winds.

Several roofs blown off, etc.

Hopefully no injuries, etc.

I'm only guessing not a common event.

Wishing all well and safe.  Everywhere.

In 1983 a tornado damaged the roof and upper levels of the Los Angeles Convention Center...

And Phoenix gets gale force winds during a "dust" storm (which can peel the paint off your house and car).

I live in GA and anytime the weather goes from close to 80 degrees to 50 degrees, you get a storm. That's Weather 101 and I didn't go to meteorology school.

While I completely believe in the changing climate as it has since the beginning of time, I am OVER the dramatic hysteria. Those taking advantage of it for whatever talking point or higher premium fits their agenda or wallet is unconscionable at this point.

March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. It's not new, simply early.

Wow . . . just sit around and do nothing. What will be will be. You would know better than I about Georgia, but in Virginia this has not been a typical winter and not in Ashville either.

To the OP, what would like to see happen?

Encase the entire country in a bubble or a dome?

Preventative measures?  How would that be attained given the fact that it's weather and it seems to be pretty unpredictable.  We can't even get the local weather person to get it right within a 2 hour time period.

Today I checked Tomorrows weather.  They'e  been predicting a snow event for the longest time.  Anywhere from 3 to 6".  Today they said it will just be a dusting.  Affer all that!  I'm happy it turned out like that, but lots of time they will sound like it's the end of the world snow and it turns out to nothing!
