Re: WHAT PLANS DO YOU HAVE FOR JULY 4TH WEEKEND?

the fancy door, sidelights and transom we put in when we built the house few yrs. ago.

I'm just tickled I added a glass storm door over it with a screen door to let in some air. LOL

It wouldn't matter.  It is illegal in my city to shoot off fireworks but it has been going on for over a week now and will continue well into July.  In fact, I don't think fireworks are legal in any city around me.  In townships yes but not in the city.

Police will be working overtime on all the alls they will get for people illegaly shooting things off.

Because of the pets, we no longer go to fireworks.  We stay home and try to keep them calm.  I am planning on going out to breakfast, blood donation at the Blood Bank, doing some yard work, and then a cookout.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

We're keeping it low key because hubby is working a 12 hour nursing shift on 7/5.  So, we're going to hang out with friends.  Lunch at restaurant on the beach, hopefully on the outside deck and probably movie.  We'll watch fireworks on tv.

Re: WHAT PLANS DO YOU HAVE FOR JULY 4TH WEEKEND?

Tomorrow my nephew and his family (6 altogether) arrive for a week.  There are many things planned in surrounding shore towns.  We'll just play it by ear.  My nephew and his brother lived with us after my sister, and then her husband died.  He is the younger of the 2 (our son was sandwiched between the 2 of them) and spent his high school and college years with us.

This will be a bittersweet visit. My nephew lives and works for a British company in Chicago.  He's been transferred to London and the family is relocating, later in July.

At least now I have a reason to visit London.

Our son and his family will join us for part of the holiday, so it will be a full house.  The good news, the kids love sleeping bags on the porch and decks.

Enjoy your holiday everyone!

Enjoying my new just installed front storm door with screen option, so, now I can get some North cold air of the rare mornings we have it.

@SharkE  Is that by chance a Larson storm door?  🙂

Pella from Loew's

@SharkE  Excuse my random question but I had to ask. I notice those things because a loved one works at Larson.  They are the number 1 storm door company.  Pella is great too; we have all Pella windows and we have a LOT of windows.

You will love having your new door there to see out or open for breezes if you so desire. Enjoy!

@SilleeMee, you my want to try Music My Pet, an app on the IPad. It plays at least an hour of classical music, chosen to soothe your fur kids. It works great for my doggie and he is terrified of thunder. He goes to the laundry room, I leave lights on, and start the music. He is usually very relaxed in 10-15 minutes. You can certainly try other types of music as well. HTH

Thanks for your suggestion @GoldenmoherWoman Happy I'll enjoy the music as well. I have a surround home theater in my home and we, me and my golden girl Annie, really enjoy listening to music of all kinds! She likes to dance with me.Woman LOL
