Two news reports:
I like the scientific name of it from the NY Times: "That thing with feathers".

Now don't come down on me , like i am crazy but i wonder if it would ever be possible in science ,that someday they will be able to bring them back to our planet, why they would i do not know.

I'm pretty sure they could try to do it now if they worked on it. This particular specimen has tissue attached, which might mean viable DNA.
There's been talk about some scientists trying but it's all underground. The problem is how to control the creatures and could some carry illness, etc.
Still, it's exciting to think about.

I hope they never bring them back! Many creatures become extinct for good reasons.

From the NYTimes:
"The feathers most likely belonged to a baby nonavian theropod, meaning it looked more similar to a velociraptor or Tyrannosaurus rex than to a modern bird. That said, it was probably only about the size of a sparrow."
(A velociraptor... shades of Jurassic Park)

It is, and it's history in a way, especially if you have a piece of something in it. I bought a couple of pieces back when another channel carried it.

@Noel7 - I thought it was either amber or a tree in a forest fire. That little guy sure is cute.....he can stay in Jurassic Park!!!!!
