Re: WHAT GIFTS ARE YOU SICK OF? Fess up, be honest!

Honestly I have never not liked a gift in my entire life. I love (d) all my gifts. I can say the same for gifts I have given also. My grandkids even said I buy the best gifts.

On my side we do give each other lists of ideas but still we think of gifts on our own too. And on DHs side we just guess and we dont see them much as they dont live here.

But yeah have never been disappointed, and have never returned anything!

Oh, No - I just bought a throw for a co-worker.  Thanks for making me feel like I'm giving a gift that people are sick of.

Well I just got a throw as a gift, and I was thrilled to receive it!

Not to sound ungrateful, but every year my SIL sends a small gift box of cheeses and sausage from a famous mail order company.  She gives this to everyone and I know that one family member has told her numerous times that no one eats these.  I cannot give this box away.  I have suggested that if she really wants to give us something (we need nothing and really do not want anything), then give that money to her local animal shelter in our name.   I don't believe in getting a gift for someone without any thought.

What a negative question. I am grateful for everything, and if I cannot use it and it has no sentimental value, it goes to Goodwill or the women's shelter.

Any type of candle, scarves (don't ever wear), shower gel (don't like and have never used), Christmas ornaments no matter how expensive (I have my own taste for decorations), jewelry (except for good earrings don't wear any), and my all time dislike is perfume because I have asthma.  These types of things were all repeatedly given to me by those who should know I do not use any of that stuff.  I don't care how many throws or slippers I get, eventually I will have a use for them.

I just don't care for anything that seems like no thought whatsoever was put into it. I would rather have a card with a heartfelt message than something bought on the fly,or out of duty.

Perfume. Now, if it's a scent I wear, fantastic. But to buy me a scent because the person wears it or they think it'll smell good on me or whatever...no. Just..NO.

I do my best to return it if possible when that happens.

I'm not sick of any gift I've been given.  The fact I got a gift, or was thought of is good enough for me.  I may pass it on or whatever, but I accept it.

I'm sick of trying to figure out what to gift others.

Unless it is a specific clothing item I have asked for please no clothes. I know what I like and my sisters never get me things I like.

I would like for someone to get me really nice high quality socks. Just a couple pair would be fine, not white but something I can wear with jeans and loafers. Not a dozen pair in a bag from you know where. It's something I never think to buy myself until I'm getting dressed and wish I had some. I bet I'm not the only one.
