WHAT AUTHORS HAVE YOU "GIVEN UP" ON?

Here are some of the authors I do not read anymore because of "staleness" of writing or don't appeal to me anymore. Some I might give another chance to if their plots change or appeal to me.

Elizabeth Adler (went from general fiction to mystery)

Mitch Albom

Jeffrey Archer (liked his earlier books)

David Baldacci (read his one general fiction book but not mysteries)

Michael Chabon (tried 3 books and said never again)

Carol Higgins Clark (after read numerous ones it became like one book over and over again)

Robin Cook

Patricia Cornwell

Catherine Coulter (only writes one series about one subject)

Jennifer Crusie (boring after a while)

Janet Daily (ever since she plagarized I've lost the urge to read her)

Janet Evanovich (haven't read #21 yet and I swear that will be the last one). Getting old.

Julie Garwood (3 were enough for me)

Emily Giffin

Laura Levine (sorry SUNNY){#emotions_dlg.laugh}

Colleen McCullough (after reading Bittersweet that was enough for me)

Karen Robards (when she started writing psychological mysteries I stopped reading her)

Anita Shreve (I've given her enough chances)

Nicholas Sparks (all the same plot it seems)

Stuart Woods (got tired of his Stone Barrington series) after 18 books.

I'm sure there are many more but that's plenty. Too many other authors out there I want to try and hopefully like.

Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella, Lianne Moriarty. I'm sure I'll think of more.

I stopped reading Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series after about #12 or so. I loved the first 10 books, but it lost its magic for me.

Yes, I gave up on Janet Evanovich, too.

Hilary Mantel and Anita Shreve. I'm almost through with Anna Quindlen because of her dreadful Breadcrumbs book.

I think I'm in the minority who liked Anna Quindlen's Still Life With Breadcrumbs after reading the comments on ""What Are You Reading"" thread.
