hey all

not much today

the furnace repair/roof repair was canceled for today-the roofer canceled at last minute-can't run the furnace till repairs are done-sure hope repairs are done tomorrow-

tomorrow is my foot doc appt-good thing about this the place i have to go to is about 5 minutes up the road so dh said he would drop me off and he would pick me up

sure hope roofer comes tomorrow-need these repairs done asap

Have you tried a handyman? I have a trusted one that I use at least once a year, to help with those pesky repairs that always seem to arise with home ownership.

Sorry you are feeling ill. I came down with something that I am assuming I picked up when I went to a play this past Saturday. I ended up leaving work at noon on Tuesday, I stayed home today (Wednesday), and I really should stay home tomorrow, but we have an important event at the job, and I don't want to disappoint my Director. Who by the way would completely understand, it's pressure that I am putting on myself.

Sorry, to hear that you are missing your family. It was good that you were able to get a nice 5 week visit with them. Keep your head and spirits up. 

Other than that we are just dealing with a lot of fires. One of the big one's that is currently raging out of control, they arrested someone today, so that's good news. I feel as if I am surrounded by them. The "Line Fire" in San Bernardino County, where I work, and the "Airport Fire" is in the county that I live in. It started off in Orange County, and has now come down to Riverside county.  Air Quality is pretty crappy.

Had a 2-hour  zoom meeting with a fiduciary advisor.  I can't remember the last time someone was able to hold my interest on a topic for 2 hours and I am not a numbers person! This was concerning my dad's estate but my husband and I will soon be making some changes.

monikacam my dh brother is a lawyer of somekind(he lives on west coast) he does that fustdary (i know i spelled it wrong and can't find correct spelling) work-it is all greek to me.

well the roofer guy canceled again-furnace man found someone else to help us out so we can get furnace repaired.

you are so right ICE-finding people to do maintaince work is NOT EASY any longer-finding this out with furnace repair.

furnance repair is complete with new pipe and roofers said roof was in excellent shape no wood damage-got new boots for the outside roof pipes.

so glad it was done our furance man was able to find a roofing company to come in an emergency call-he fired the 1st roofers he called and they just never showed up and canceled today again.

@icezeus, I was lucky enough to have a handyman for a few years, but he retired. I did get the quote on driveway work today and it will be done Sept. 30th. The painter is supposed to be here at 8:00 tomorrow. Every time I can check something off my list I am grateful.

Hope everyone is feeling better today, we have to take good care of ourselves. Getting older isn't easy.

About an hour ago, I got a call cancelling our 6pm meeting and dinner.  Time was perfect.  I had just finished getting all my meeting "stuff" together, and ran an iron over my clothes.

Not a total loss  .... I'm packed for next month's session.

BUT ... now I have to make my own supper.  Not too bad, I have some leftovers that I can reheat.

AND .... I have time to unravel the shawl I started crocheting earlier today. It's the third pattern I started with this yarn, and the yarn is being very ornery.  It refuses to cooperate. 

I'm going to lay some patterns on the table with the yarn and see if it will signal to me which one it wants to become.

already had 2 items to get corrected 

1 was the bank messed up royally on payment to our furnace and roofer people for repairs-the check was written for 0000.00 but bank only gave the company who arranged everything 000.00 the company was shorted one thousand dollars-we contacted the bank ASAP this morn-they saw error so now claim inquiry has begun-contacted our person at furnace company about error to have him contact his bank to tell them of error and have his bank contact our bank to get correct amount-
