Merry Christmas to all.  I am at my brothers home, relaxing before the festivities.  Was not sure if I would be here today. I had a procedure done on Monday, but I have recovered, and then we have had some pretty harsh storms in Southern California, which today "Christmas Day" we have received several hours of non rain, so I was able to drive up. I will stay the night and depending upon how the weather is tomorrow, I will drive home Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

Took fur baby for 3.5 mile walk.

Received from QVC 2 of the 12 compartment shoe organizers they had as a Big Deal.  I started taking my shoes out of shoes boxes and placing them in the little bins.  I have LOTS of shoes, and since I really like these organizers, I just ordered 2 more.  It's a lot of work; however, even though I'm not done yet, I can tell everything already appears so much more organized.

Went out for lunch.   I went to my "regular" place - Portillos.  For those of you that are not familiar with Portillos it a fast-casual chain restaurant that's often decorated with a nostalgic 1930-'s - 1970's vibe.  You order and pick-up your food at the counter.   I love their hamburgers and have not had one for about a month so I decided to go.   It's so easy to just say to myself, stay home, but I realize  I need to get out.  I'm glad I went today as the weather does not sound too good the next few days.

I enjoyed the morning with trucker daughter before she left for her work week.  She has to hit the road very early in the morning, so she will sleep in her truck tonight and be ready to go before daylight.  

As soon as the mood hits, I will start on laundry and basic cleaning chores.

I have not been out of the house for 6 weeks. Last weekend I thought of going with my daughter when she went out  ubt changed my mind.

I use a walker and it is a pain trying to get myself out of the house and to the car. We are rural and lawn is not flat.  I can't get the walker (it's not one of those basic metal ones, it has wheels and a seat) into the car.  It is easier to just stay put.  It's h*ll losing your independence.  I've driven twice in the last 4 months.  I miss driving.  Once I'm in the car I'm golden, it is getting myself there that is a problem.

I do have a Dr. appt on 1/5 so DD is taking time off to take me.  She will halp me ti the car and put my walker in.

Keep getting out,  the alternative is not fun.

I just got in to fix my dinner.  Did from 1 to 4 cleaning back and front yard from all the next door leaves and weeds that grew in my front rocks from rains.  

Back yard all the leaves from redwood and magnolia trees.  I'm tired.

Don't know if I'll be able to in 2026 when I'm 90. So far, so good. Can't afford a gardner, plus i'm too fussy.  I may not care next year and will have to hire.

I have to admit, I am tired, but got a good workout.  

It's all the years of exercise, still strong.  Clean house tomorrow and then the rest of the week, except for shopping, I'm free.

Our house is put back together after the family party on Thursday. Our tree remains up until the middle of January. Everyone thought it was pretty, and I agree, so I want to enjoy it a lot longer. We've been eating leftovers, so I'd like to go out tomorrow for a chicken dinner as a change of pace.

Glad that you made yourself get out of the house. 

I have not been to Portilos in years. It was a popular lunch spot at my last job, but I left that company about 9 years ago. I use to like to get the Chili Dogs.

I came home yesterday, did some laundry, and went back out again to meet some friends at the wineries. I had a really good time. One is a former co-worker, him and his wife moved to Nevada this past Summer. They were home visiting her parents for a few days over the holiday's so  they reached out to me and another former co-worker and our schedules aligned. 

This morning I attended services, treated myself to breakfast afterwards, then went by a Furniture Store called "Living Spaces" and purchased a bench for the end of my bed to sit on when I am getting ready. It will be delivered later this week. Hit the ATM, came home and have just finished paying a few online bills. I am done for the day. I plan on sitting down now, watching T.V., perhaps if the mood hits me purge a few more items from my home. 

I need to go into the office tomorrow and Tuesday, but then I am off for the rest of the week. "Yay Me".
