Yes, much running for us too, with gas at $4.09 a gallon.

The specialist my husband was sent to is a 4 hour drive north of us, and we were given an early appt, which required us to get up at  an hour I haven't been awake for since I worked 11-7 shift!   We will make that trip again this week, but our appt is after lunch this time.  The ride is very difficult for my husband.

@RedTop   Sleep is elusive now more than ever.

We are fortunate not to have to travel too far for the appt. on Monday.  It is near our markets so we can stop by on the way home.

Thankfully PCP and other doctors are close by and so are MRI and PT.

Driving for DH is just not something he can do.  I have to drive and I am not in the best shape either but I make do. My right hip and spine are an issue so it's a matter of being able to life that foot safely.

Sometimes grandson can help out but he's in college so we usually have to make do on our own.

I'm so sorry you have a 4 hour drive.  I hope your DH will have some comfort along the way.

RIght now grandson and DH are in the garage making some adjustments to the wheelchair.

Take care.Heart

Hello everyone, I have only read a few pages back and I see so many are having medical issues. I will pray for you all and your spouses.Heart

We just suffered a loss, my little shih-tzu had kidney failure. I tried everything to get her to eat...I bet I cooked 10 different things per day...all her favs. She had a few OK days and would eat a bit...but as she went along...she just wouldn't...she would look at me with hunger in her eyes but would turn her nose up at all her special meals she had always loved. We even gave her IV drips and B12 along with nausea pills but it was all for not.

Then March 16th she began to stumble badly and not able to walk very far. That is when I had to make the decision I never wanted to make and call our Mobile Vet and put her to sleep. He was kind enough to come to our home on his week off and help her transition to heaven on our back patio with a cool breeze and birds singing and me holding her. It broke my heart...she was my special girl, we had her almost 14 years. I still find myself crying multiple times a day. We will always have her in our hearts.

TY for listening.

P.S. Thinking of you all who are having struggles and of course my @Cakers3 who has always been special to me.

@croemer  I'm just a lurker here, never post.  Your post brought tears to my eyes.  I've had my heart broken several times by beloved dogs and I really empathize with you.  The pain is deep.  Just know there are lots of people who have felt the  pain you're feeling and understand.💔

@MoJoV How nice you popped in, TY! The pain is still so fresh...it will be 2 weeks Wens. and seems like it happened only today. I am so sorry for your losses. I still cry even saying her name because I can not believe she is truly gone and I will never see her again. When the Vet drove away with her little body I wanted to chase after the van...she had never spent a night without me. TY for the kind words.Heart
