@ShowMe  do you have Taco Bell delivered by a home delivery service ? If so, who do

you use and what do they charge ? I've been concerned about using them since they are all strangers as opposed to pizza, deli, Chinese etc delivery people .

@Keybra.....Thanks for asking.  I love Mexican food, and since I am sort of home bound and isn't easy for me to go out, I do use a home delivery service.  Use Grub Hub.  There is a small order charge plus regular delivery fee, and if you have a little higher priced order, they drop the small order charge and only charge you for a regular delivery fee.  Like last night, I ordered from Taco Bell (through Grub Hub)....and included some food on my order for my neighbor across the hall....which made it more than a small order.  Therefore, was only charged the $3.99 for delivery.

And every once in a while I get an email from Grub Hub that I qualified for a "free" delivery.  That is nice to receive.  Have really not had any problems with the Grub Hub delivery service.

You can order food from Applebee's, Red Lobster, Friday's, and even White Castle.  They offer food from many different restaurants, including Chinese, BBQ, etc.  It is all done on line, and you choose the restaurant you wish to order from.  In the email from GH you just click on the restaurant you wish to order from.  Really very easy to do.  They keep excellent records on their customers.

If you would decide to go this route, please let me know how you like it.  And, I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Get a big kick out of Grub Hub's commercials....where the table is filled with food all ordered from Grub Hub.

As someone who is and has been going through cancer treatments, any kind of fast food, processed food, frozen entrees...cannot even imagine consuming regularly. My system could not handle all the chemicals,  sodium and all the horrible ingredients, preservatives contained within.  Pure poison. Would be even sicker and am hurting my body, healing eating such.  My medical team would never advocate and would have a fit if I did such.  Going through any horrible illness...it is crucial to replenish with whole nutrients, whole foods, healthy ingredients.  Taco Bell is so well known for how bad the product, ingredients are. Might as well eat lard out of a can.  But like anything, prepared foods, fast food...a sometimes treat.

@BeautyLver.....sorry you are battling cancer.  So am I.  Have had treatments for more than 4 years and also radiation treatments.  Have lost gobs of weight and they want me to eat more than I can get down.  Not a regular customer of Taco Bell, but do want my Mexican food once in a while.  I order some very delicious dinners that consist of baked, broiled, etc fish, chicken, and yes, even some beef.  You are right that we cancer patients have to be careful what we put in our bodies for nutrition.   I also drink my Boost on a regular basis for protien.  Good luck with your treatments and care.

PS....by the way, I just had my 11th PET scan on Thursday, and will be seeing my oncologist this coming Tuesday for the results, and if there is anymore cancer activity, what will be the next step.....  My only choice will be the OPDIVO treatments again, or nothing.  It will be my choice to make.   The waiting game is very stressful.

I can’t fathom if you have been as sick as stated for so long that you have not worked with a nutritionist, a physical therapist or any of the other many services available, recommended and/or necessary. As said if you are as ill as described.  After all this time you should have quite a medical team at their fingertips to help with your quality of life. I cannot imagine not having, utilizing all that is available to me to help get myself better.  Both physically and mentally.  Can only go by with what is conveyed. Home 24/7, no company, doctor appointment here and there and ordering in prepared, processed foods. Again, just what is conveyed.  Everyone, most especially anyone who is sick deserves a better quality of life.

@BeautyLver......I have metastatic melonoma....which is skin cancer.  Have had no surgery.  Nothing but the treatments and radiation.  Have an excellent oncologist, and yes have worked with a nutritionist about eating and what foods I should be eating.  And yes, am careful that I am with no one who is sick with a cold or flu, etc..  Am also being seen by my primary doctor, retina specialist, and eye doctor on a regular basis.  They all know what reactions I've had from the treatments....which is quite a few.....  About the only place I go anymore is to doctors.  And this is because I am on a walker now and it wears me out to get out of the building, to the car, put walker in the car, and then get to where I'm going, then go through the same thing when I arrive and depart where I've been to come home.

@Keybra.....OPDIVO is an immunal treatment that is given through a vein or port.....I have the port.  It is very potent and was pretty hard on my body because of the length of time I was on it.  That was when my oncologist had me go through radiation treatments.  Haven't had any treatments for almost a year now.....just under the care of my oncologist and primary to checkups, blood work, etc.  This Tuesday will tell me where I am now with the cancer.....if it is active again, then I will have to go back on the OPDIVO treatments....or the alternative, which is nothing.  It will be my choice.

Hope you are able to enjoy the Grub Hub program.  I have really been happy with it.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

@ShowMe

I was not aware that you have been battling cancer for so many years, and yet you took the time yesterday to welcome a new poster to this forum. This speaks to the kind of person that you are.  I am going to go out on a limb since I do not know you and say my impressions are generous and kind.

I send healing thoughts your way.

I see that this is a daily thread. I am too busy during the work week, but as stated earlier I will make a point to visit this thread on the weekends.

Today, will be my day to do chores around the home and relax. I attended services last night so I did not have to get up early this morning.

Netflix will be my friend today, interspersed with reading.

Re: WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY????

ShowMe,

For the second week in a row, I attended LIturgy at my church instead of the local Catholic church.  There was a detour along the way, however, and the local TV news stations have been alerting the public to the closure of this major artery for the past several days.  Despite this impediment to a smooth journey, I still opted to go to my church.  In the end, I was doubly glad I did because the priest who had helped establish the Greek Orthodox Church in my hometown in Maryland was helping to officiate this morning.  Seeing him always brings joy to my heart.

Stopped off for gas and a few items at the grocery that's in the same shopping area.

I hope you are feeling improved and more rested after your scan and all that that ordeal entailed.
