I'm so excited about getting WEGMAN'S I could spit!!! The one in my town will be walking distance, but can't walk back with 4 bags of groceries. 

I used to go to Wegman's in Northern VA with my daughter before she moved to WA last year. They have everything and more....especially prepared foods & catering available. A second floor cafe, as well? OMG.

It should be completed in 2 yrs. which is a long time to contain my excitement.

Oh, that's wonderful. I am originally from Niagara Falls Ny and really miss Wegmans. It is the best. Where in the South. I am in Georgia.

I hear so many good things about that store.  I don't know if they'll ever come to the Midwest.

@Shanus .. you are so lucky!!   I love Wegman's..but the closest one to me is about 45 minutes away (with no traffic).   I wish they would open one in my neck of the woods.

A few years ago, a Wegman's opened about  20 minutes from me.  It is true, they have everything... and more!

I go there about once a month to get a few select items. Their store brand vegetables, like green beans, peas and corn are better than the national brands.  I buy them in bulk.

I also like their seafood, especially the scallops.  They are always so fresh and delicious

It's a great store and I love going there, but their prices are higher than most of the other stores in my area.

I live in central NY and have shopped at Wegmans for years.  I live in a college town so there is a big demand for fruits and vegetables needed for our international students cooking.  Our town found out if there is a demand for a product Wegmans is willing to find out if it is a product that would work in other stores enough to make the product cost effective to carry.  

I also like that their produce, whenever possible, is from farmers close to their stores.  They usually place a picture with notation to show the local farmer and a Wegmans produce employee on the product.  They have helped our local small farm businesses grow and we get daily deliveries.  There is nothing better than corn on the cob for dinner that was picked that morning and fruit fresh from our orchards.

I am sure you will enjoy your store when you get it.  Beware their marketing is great and many stores are high.  While wandering down the isles you will quickly purchase more than you intended.   Beware of the bakery and prepared foods.  The smells will grab you in.   Oh my!!!!   Enjoy.

I'm eagerly awaiting Wegman's too! One will be opening in Northern NJ on September 24th. 5 minutes from where I live....

There are Wegmans all over western NY but they wont come into the eastern part. They skip right over us and go into Massachusetts. Rumor has it they have had an agreement with Price Chopper not to come here but they deny that. So strange.
