OK - coal is bad. Natural gas is bad. (Together thy supply 67% of our electricity)

Nuclear is next (same cite) with 19% Now we are up to 86%

This is what's left - which I guess those of you complaining about the top two (and maybe the third - which can also be very dangerous as we have seen) think we should be relying upon.

  • Hydropower 7%
  • Other Renewable 5%

Biomass 1.42%
  • Geothermal 0.41%
  • Solar 0.11%
  • Wind 3.46%

  •

Petroleum 1%
  • Other Gases < 1%
  •

So who is willing to use only 14% of the electricity you currently use?

I am willing to use everything we can...in the safest way possible.

This storage company hadn't had their tanks inspected in over TWENTY YEARS! And then they failed to notify the water company or the state of the leak. Maybe we wouldn't be talking about this (and extra regulations) if they had been better corporate citizens.

The cynic in me is not so sure I'd want to drink the water even once they say it's safe to drink.

I'm with you. The lax inspections and regs are not only dangerous for the miners but the entire state as well.

Another thing that ticks me off is how quickly this company filed for bankruptcy (about a week later). That shields it from suits, at least temporarily.

The pain they have cost us, the evils that never happened.
