I've read from several doctors newsletters that it is good to take zinc, d, and c.
But interesting that several sources say to stop vitamin d if you get sick (or heaven forbid the virus).
I don't know why or if that is true.
Maybe someone else has more info.

Yes, use it all the time. Couldn't find out why.

@on the bay I've been takng B12, C, D and ferrous sulfate (iron) for a few years at the SPECIFIC direction of my oncologist and will do so unless **he** directs me otherwise.
I only take medical advice from my PCP or my oncologist, not from anything on the internet or any "TV doctors" or any supplement salesmen on TV.

I'm glad you have good doctors and trust them.
I know what you mean but I do like to read many sources.
These suggestions were from a pediatrician. The CDC website also has info. There are many good sources.
But that's okay for those who don't like to read about anything. You certainly don't have to.

@on the bay You comment about people who don't want to read anything was pretty darn snarky. FYI I read a LOT, maybe not the same things YOU do. Get it? Good.
And agan FYI I am pretty well informed about the current situation, world events and local politics. But NO I don't read medical newsletters. I'll let other people do that and that's fine for them.

I guess I felt like your post was a deliberate put down, so yes I admit mine was snarky.
I have hearted your posts many times and respect you as a poster. I guess we are all on edge and I appreciate what you are saying.
I really do. I guess I also don't like when people dismiss everything but oh I only listen to so and so such and such. That is closing ourselves off to new info every day.
No one knows everything about the covd, no one.
We are all discovering.
You said you only take advice from your doctor and that is good that you trust him but your post made it sound like you would never be interested in any other source.
Anyway, maybe better for all of us to go outside.
I really don't like to argue.
I am very interested in all kinds of opinions and research esp. now.

Anything you can do to improve your immune system will help. I did read something awhile back about Vit D. There was some correlation between spring/summer and the decrease in virus illnesses. It was thought that because people were outside more in the sunshine the additional Vit D boosted the immune system.
To stop taking if you are sick, I have never heard.

I read this intertesting article at Fox given by the former CDC Director.. I've increased my Vit D I know this will be poofed so sorry ahead of time.. Read fast?

What I read is that you need to keep the vitamin D levels up throughout the winter. I did not read to stop vitamin D, of course your doctor would need to know that if prescribing something else.
I only read that beginning vitamin after you have an upper respiratory infection could not be expected to help at that point.
