A new study in in Finland found that airport security trays carry the highest virus load in the airport. There are new antimicrobial trays out to combat the problem. Some are in use in U.S airports. I listened to a podcast which discussed the findings. "The new SecureTray bins have been delivered to airports in seven cities so far: Denver; Knoxville, Tennessee; Minneapolis; Nashville; Tampa; Washington, D.C.; and Highfill, Arkansas. Fifteen others are scheduled to get the bins by early July."
This short article goes into it a bit and there is an embedded link to the original research.
PODCAST EPISODE ABOUT THIS is called "One of the Germiest Places at the Airport"
Podcast Title is called "Short Wave" and it's by NPR. It's a short science and medicine podcast.
