Has anyone gotten a virus from viewing a shopping channel? I was looking at another, not QVC, and my work computer got a virus for the first time ever. Completely botched up and having to be re-whatever'ed. Makes me afraid to view my shopping sites anymore. Has anyone been hit in such a manner?

QVC is the only shopping channel I buy from and in 22+ years of regularly shopping here, I've never gotten a virus.
Can't speak about the others.

No. I was just accessing Evine, a well known shopping channel, one i have used before. But today, I got a virus. Just odd. I have no Net at home so use my work computer to shop. Never had an issue until today.

@LisaMofSLC. Wow. Was your employer upset? Not only for using their computers for shopping, but to infect with a virus. Hope they were understanding.

No, I don't think it's like that you got the viruse from a shopping channel site. I've had the occasional virus but since I use my computer a lot, I have no way of knowing where I got it. Probably from some video or link from FB. I try not to do that type of think on the laptop I use for work. It's why I love customer support. I don't have to figure anything out myself I call, they run a diagnostic and fix whatever the problem is.

No I have not. But I never click on links anyone on the board posts, especially in the TV section where some often post links to on-line gossip sites. I clicked on one of those links once and ended up with all kinds of malware on my work computer. I ran a scan and it deleted it all. I've never had a full blown virus.

I got an email from Walmart the other day. I happened to be looking at the address bar when I clicked on it. (Walmart and I are old "pen pals") For a split second the address came up with "sucker" as the first part. I immediately closed the window but, really? Spammers are using insulting sending addresses? Now I look at the screen while emails are retrieved. Amazing. Fortunately, I use chrome and I haven't had any problems that I've noticed. There may be some that I haven't noticed, so I cleared my browsing history and my cookies. (What am I talking about? Life is getting much too complicated with computers. And they want us to trust our lives to a computer driven car? I don't think I will, thank you.)
