Vionic and the NorCal firefighters

I thought people would like to see what Vionic has donated to some firefighters who have been fighting the NorCal fires. Their headquarters is in San Rafael, not far from the fires.

@Bri36 I’m very lucky - when I order from their website it’s $5 shipping for Fedex and I often get it the next day if I happen to order before noon, otherwise it’s 2-day delivery for me.

This is wonderful @Moonchilde !  It makes me so happy that people all over the Bay Area are doing good things for the first responders.  So many famous chefs turned up to cook for them, others donated food and drinks.  Several well known restaurants have told them to come in, in a group if they want, and get a meal on the restaurant.  One was something like Perfect Catch in Marin.

So glad you shared this Smiley Happy

@Noel7, it was in my FB feed.

Last year, when we had our horrible fires here, there were benefits and freebies for all first responders/firefighters everywhere - free Aquarium admission (they’re now offering free admission to anyone displaced by fire), free meals, you name it.

A huge benefit was held at the Aquarium, which I attended. It was one of their regular “Members Dinner” evenings, but they opened it to all - you didn’t have to be a member to go - and all the proceeds (you paid/bought tickets for small bites and drinks) went to victims’ relief. The FD was there answering questions.  I don’t remember, but they raised something like over $100,000 I think. There were multiple other community fundraisers too.

When you drove through Carmel Valley or into Carmel, the roads were full of hand-lettered signs by entire families saying “Thank you Firefighters” and “We love you Firefighters.” There were SO many, I started to cry. That area really dodged a bullet last year.

So yes, anything that anyone offers is wonderful!

@Noel7, I just posted about another fundraiser in the other thread (thought it was a more appropriate place) - but you’d better look quick - I’m sure someone will have it deleted if they can.  People have interesting hobbies...

These people are braver than I can imagine!  Hope the boots bring a bit of comfort and let them know people are really thinking of them.
