It seems like we are all live in the same general area.

Re: View Taken From New NJ Ferry Service

I grew up in NJ and remember taking the ferry many times with my family. As a kid, there's just something so exciting about traveling on the water!

I've lived in PA since I was in college. But I have fond memories of growing up in New Jersey, going down the shore, Mischief Night, hopping on a bus and being in Manhattan in 30 minutes, the huge shopping malls, even the traffic circles! 😂

@Kalli  Most of those things you remembered as a kid still exist in NJ.  As another posters said, "you can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take Jersey out of the girl."

@Ronettes & @ciao_bella the other side of the township I live in is nothing but shopping centers and warehouses being built.  That portion of Rte. 9 is a death trap and I will avoid it like the plague.  I can find everything we need on Rte. 35 or Rte.36 without having to go over that way.

@CelticCrafter   Not exactly sure where on Rte 9 you're referring to, but most of Rte 9 is always busy with it being more congested during weekdays at commuter hours in the early AM hours and PM when work is over and also traffic to and from NYC.

Here we have Route 17 and Route 3, which today are a nightmare.

Route 17 is a continual traffic jam, and Route 3 is, as you stated, a 'death trap'.

Route 46 isn't much better, I prefer using the back roads if I can.

The continual running of 'Stop' signs and red lights is causing more and more accidents here.

And they're still building on every inch of land, huge housing units, who needs more and more people and traffic.

Scary, another reason I cannot wait to move down South in 2024!

You're so right, I'm going to take NJ with me in my heart when we leave -

NJ has so many beautiful beaches, their malls used to be the best, it was clean, small town country living with wonderful schools when I was a child, we knew all our neighbors and looked out for each other, and just the best in fresh fruits and vegetables -

I live in NJ all my life & commuted via Ferry from Edgewater to NYC & a shuttle to mid town. It was a lovely way to commute.

@Stray   I so agree!  It's a peaceful way to commute as compared to hectic other ways.

@proudlyfromNJ   Several years ago on a beautiful spring day, along with a few other friends, we took the ferry from Atlantic Highlands to the South St. Seaport in NYC.  We all had a great time walking around the area and then had a lovely lunch there.   Taking the ferry is a nice way to travel to the city.
