Re: Video LR estate

Lisa most certainly is a self made woman. Never depended on any man to support her, not from what I know about her life. Is that the "problem"? She traveled abroad on QVC's money? That's ridiculous, that was her job. So did Jane Treacy. Antonella, and countless others. She networked, that's what people in business do.

Lol at anyone calling that property "rundown". It's beautiful. I guess some people here live in palatial estates that are renovated every six months to a year. She worked for the money to buy it. She wasn't born with a silver spoon as far as I know.

I am no member of Lisa's tribe or fan club, etc. But this is all just so catty. I don't understand why her address is allowed here either. Being on realtor.com isn't a justification. Sure seems to me that quite a bit of digging was required to find that.

Self made wealthy women are often the subject of scorn around these forums. Interesting phenomenon, I suppose. I wonder what posters would say if David Venable owned that same property. I bet he could afford it.

@Greeneyedlady21

Nope.  Typed in "Lisa Robertson farmhouse" in search because the OP was interested in seeing the video she posted on her website.  Came up under "Patch" the third entry on Bing.  The address was posted there.

Clicked on the address link that took me to Realtor.com.  I wouldn't call that "quite a bit of digging."  In fact, I was surprised I found it so quickly.

You're saying just because we see something that's legal doesn't mean it's moral.  In some cases, that's true; however, all of us see things differently than others.

Notice, I posted no photos here.  For those finding the link objectionable, no one is forcing them to click that link to Realtor.com.

However, as far as this subject goes, it's similar to an animal advocate debating with a hunter.  Neither side wins in the eyes of the other.

@NYCLatinaMeI am not preoccupied about Lisa or anything about her. I guess I have a higher threshold for saying someone is “self made.” But by your definition anyone who earns money and can support themselves is self made. That is fine. I just look at it differently.

@Puppy Lips My definition is also someone makes their own way but doesn't have a sponsor or someone who very much eases their way up the ladder or into a business.  It is someone who just works their way up on their own.

Why would a single woman want all that house?  I hope it makes her happy.

Why not?   I would if I could afford it.

I am shocked that this thread is allowed!

This very personal information (with her address) should not be posted on the site of a former employer!!

@JasoninBoston This inforrmation is a matter of public record, and very easy to find.

@manny2 Just because something is in the public record doesn't mean it should be reposted. I would have hoped that a board sponsered by her former employer wouldn't publically allow something that contained her address.  But alas, I would have also hoped that more people on here (other than a few) would be kinder!!

Oh well!

Wow!  Looking at these houses and the prices, you sure get a lot more house for your money.

I live up in Northern Va, as does my oldest daughter.

Her house is relatively small but it isn't far from Washington, DC.  Mine is a little further down the road.

My house is a little over 3,000 square feet with an attached 2 car garage sitting on 1 acre.  It's value is only about $550,000.

My daughter's house is about 1/2 that size and it's worth about 1 to 2 thousand more dollars.

These places are huge for the money!  In the D.C, Va, Md area the closer you are to Washington, DC the more you get for your house.

If a person bought one of these houses and worked at a job where you could stay home it would be worth it to buy one of the houses shown here.

A few weeks ago my daughter who was visiting from Denver was looking for something to watch.  We started watching QVC bloopers.

She watches QVC off and on but didn't know some of the former hosts.

She commented on Lisa (didn't know her name) and how professional she was.  I think Lisa was liked by a great many people who watch QVC.  Just a guess.

I was trying to find out the name of  the cute red headed host who was very funny.  I thought her name was Aubrey something like that.  While looking I found an interesting article about L. Rinna.

Yes, @JasoninBoston ...how would any of us feel if we were selling our home and someone decided to link it here? There is a line that has been crossed and after re-reading the Standards of Participation for this forum, it surprises me it is permissible.

And no, I am not a member of her Tribe or customer.
