Re: Victims of Identity Theft Again!!

Lots of scams out there.  You would never collect on this... someone else has your information and has diverted the payments.  Good thing you reported it.

A week ago... an email from a friend.  Could I please get an Amazon card and send it to her niece for a birthday present.  Her credit card was being updated or reviewed.  I wrote her back and said NO and told her why.  I showed her a copy of a scam with my name and address that was not mine.  Someone charged my account for two games and they were to be sent to two different addresses.  Dumb ole me.  I never should have included the invoices... I did take my personal credit info off.  Turned out my friend's name had been shared with an email by an email distribution list  associated with a church in a small town.  No one seemed to think showing all those names were dangerous.  Well I was a target since my friends email was taken over.  I immediately called her and then finding out it was not her request.  I called Amazon and monitored by bank and credit cards.  I also changed passwords. I was safe.  A DAY LATER I GOT A CALL FROM SO CALLED AMAZON.... TELLING ME MY ACCOUNT WAS CHARGED.  Welll by now I knew how the scam operated. If they could get financial info MY ACCOUNT WOULD BE SCAMMED.  I hung up and hopefully they have given up on me.
