Re: Very Old Threads Being Resurfaced

I've read this thread thoroughly,  as well as another on the same topic.

Still don't have a sense of the problem,  irritation, concern, annoyance, despite attempts at explanation.

The one that made the most sense is "it's against the rules", but we all know that hasn't stopped offenses.

Doesn't bother me at all, many times it is still as relevant as it was then.

@THEY CallMe Mr Wilkes  like you I have read the entire thread and also have been thinking about this since I read it. For those who were around when we got the notification this board would be going away most remember that initial feeling of disbelief and knowing we could possibly lose contact with people who had become important to each of us. When the second notice went up that QVC was not discontinuing the board although there was relief the feeling that they could reverse that second decision at any time remained.

With that in mind even though there are some things here I would normally challenge or at the very least question I am always aware of my status as a guest here. That privilege could be revoked at any time. I would never go to someone else's home and start issuing edicts based on things I want changed because I don't see the purpose of them. That feels like what's been done.

Re: Very Old Threads Being Resurfaced

It happens because people search & respond to them which bumps them to the front. It doesn't bother me.

Re: Very Old Threads Being Resurfaced

It does not bother me, and I don't think that it happens that frequently. There have been times, when I have posted to a thread and realized afterwards that it was an older one.

As someone mentioned upthread, I think most of the time that it happens because someone is searching for a specific subject.

Last year I was interested in purchasing a new car. I searched out previous threads about the car that I wish to purchase, and read them and obtained helpful information/opinions.

I don't see the harm in these threads.

I did eventually start my own new thread about the vehicle, before making the purchase.
